Joshua Chris Reyes Llego Architectural Designer Cultural Worker

Trained in an architectural firm focusing on design industry, visual communciation, and presentation. His work ranges from corporate format that shaped him in translating conceptual ideas into technical drawings to volunteer works for communities with untapped cultural assets.

Fluent in preparing bid plans and construction drawings as well as presentation documents for clients, developers, and consultants. He also coordinates and connects different trades in resolving design issues to comply with codes and building laws and satisfy client’s brief. Parallel to his work, he volunteers in Grupo Kalinangan Inc. - a government-registered nonstock, non-profit cultural tech organization, duly recognized by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.

Balay Bakawan Multi-Development Integrating Recreation, Education, and Environmental Awareness through Organic Architecture: A Proposed National Mangrove Museum with Symbiotic Development Studies Center and Resort Eco-adventure Park in Palsabangon Pagbilao, Quezon

The Philippines is considered to be one of the biodiversity hotspot in the world. It is a home for numerous ecotourism zones and areas. Consequently, this aspect is vital for raising environmental awareness and at the same time boosting economic growth. Tourists and researchers were definitely drawn to the country because of

its natural beauty and diversity. They are the top target market of the tourism and economic sector for establishing a strong financial foundation. But unfortunately, opportunities such as these are being lost because of the lack of physical facilities these spots could offer.

Furthermore, Pagbilao Mangrove Experimental Forest is one of the biodiversity hotspot the Philippines could be proud of. It is considered to be a Genetic Resources Area and National Training Site for Mangrove due to the number of mangrove species present on this. It is a haven for the academe and research industry for their studies and also an enticement for tourists who seeks for adventure and an escape with nature.

Yet, several problems are being encountered herein such as the absence of its marketability in terms of physical facilities it could offer and also lack of reinforcement in protecting the site.

However, to achieve both goals, there must be a balance to maintain the natural reserves while boosting economic aspects. It is intended to boost economic development and tourism without compromising the protection of second most diverse mangrove forest reserve in the world through organic architecture with emphasis on biomorphic approach.

Exterior Perspective | SketchUp 3D, Lumion, Lightroom Facade Perspective of the Coffee Shop situated on Second Floor. A signage with live wall greets the customers upon entering the establishment.

Interior Perspective | SketchUp 3D, Lumion, Lightroom Interior Perspective of a Coffee Shop with Al Fresco seating. The interior features a pastel-colored furniture and fixture with streaks of orange accent as a homage for the brand. Meanwhile, the al fresco seating features a tropical seats with planters as accents.
