SALLUIT IN COLLABORATION WITH NAOMI SU HAMEL STUDIO VII | SUPERVISED BY ANDRÉ CASAULT AUTUMN 2016
RETHINKING INUIT HOUSING This project is a rehabilitation of an area of the town of Salluit to create a small village sensitive to the Inuit territory and customs. The construction of thirteen dwellings at this location will densify the area in order to meet the housing shortage in the village, but also to minimize the expansion of the city. Efforts during the project elaboration were mainly concentrated on the possibilities of what a built environment can achieve in terms of solidarization. Thus, a grouping of two to three houses is created with open spaces for a better permeability and an appropriation by the inhabitants. These places of exchange connect various exterior activities of everyday life. The footbridges make it possible to wander through the project and discover its reciprocal relationship with nature thanks to the numerous views with water and mountains.

EYÜP IN COLLABORATION WITH 5 OTHER STUDENTS STUDIO VI | SUPERVISED BY victor brunfau & bertrand terlinden AUTUMN 2015
REPLANNING A HERITAGE DISTRICT This project takes place in Eyüp, an Istanbul district known throughout the world by Muslims for its famous mosque Eyüp Sultan Camii. After our stay in Turkey in order to identify the main urban issues, our intervention was to reconnect the urban fabric by removing the barrier that separates the historical central area from the rest of the neighbourhood. The road now being underground, it has created a shared area between pedestrians, public transport and local deliveries. In addition to strategically densify the built environment, we intervened on 3 distinct areas.

SHELTER INDIVIDUAL PROJECT STUDIO IV | SUPERVISED BY JACQUES PLANTE WINTER 2015
IMAGINING A PARKING LOT as a work of art This multi-storey car park project for the «Musée de la civilisation» is intended to be a contrast to the usual view of Old Quebec. As the angular roof of the Museum breaks the homogeneity of the rectangular façades of the surrounding historical buildings, this project continues in this direction by presenting an even more marked contrast with its many different angles. These triangular shapes that extend over the site of the Old Port refer to the irregular shapes of the moving ice that circulate along the Saint-Lawrence River. This building differs from the surrounding area by its unconventional shape and materials, while offering a mix of functions such as a multi-storey car park, a coffee shop and a showroom for the museum.

DIALOGUE INDIVIDUAL PROJECT STUDIO III | SUPERVISED BY TANIA MARTIN autumn 2014
REQUALIFICATION OF THE HERITAGE This heritage redevelopment project aims to revive the Foyer Nazareth which is an abandoned building located in the upper city of Old Quebec. The program chosen, a youth hostel, offers a place for tourists of all ages to visit Old Quebec and its surroundings. The intervention is minimal on the existing building to preserve the historical heritage. The new annex contains public spaces, such as a communal kitchen, a dining room and a bar, where people from various cultures do most of their socializing. A continuity of these spaces to the exterior is offered by the terraces that allow to admire the magnificent views towards the Old Port of Quebec. The upper floors of the existing building are divided in multiple rooms. The purpose of the development of this youth hostel was to create spaces to promote exchanges between people from all over the world. This is possible by the addition of the annex linked to the existing building with a glazed corridor on two levels, making it attractive to passers-by, meanwhile creating a dialogue between the building and the urban fabric.

chalet 4s INDIVIDUAL PROJECT STUDIO II | SUPERVISED BY LOUIS ST-PIERRE WINTER 2014
TINY HOUSING This project started with a desire to design a small cottage from 60 to 90 square meters in the National Jacques-Cartier Park in Quebec. The large amount of fenestration in coherence with the shape of the dwelling, which offers a large terrace area, allows residents to be directly connected to the outside environment. The interior provides a large open space including a kitchen, a dining room and a living room mezzanine. The concept of the cabin, inserted in a beautiful natural site, provides a warm space to visitors, perceptible through its materiality as much as through its configuration, encouraging relaxation and communication.
