THE DARK SIDE OF PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
THE DARK SIDE OF PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS

elationships fascinate me, but their beauty and mystery lie in what is not seen or heard. Seeing the sense of satisfaction a girl gets from tearing another girl down. Hearing the soft-spoken notes of torment as a singer pours their heart into a melody. Seeing the curious balance of hatred and desire in a lover’s eyes when they look at their partner. These moments are captured so eloquently in our television, art, and music. We cling to these story lines and songs, claiming they are catchy or addictive. When in fact, they are our mirrors, reflections of our own lives, failures, and heartbreaks.
MRS. ROBINSON, YOU’RE TRYING TO SEDUCE ME.
WHY DON’T YOU LOVE ME, JENNY? I MAY NOT BE A SMART MAN, BUT I KNOW WHAT LOVE IS.
ALL I WANTED WAS TO BREAK YOUR WALLS ALL YOU EVER DID WAS WRECK ME
IT’S HER FAULT, MOTHER.
THERE’S A HIGHER POWER THAT WILL JUDGE YOU FOR YOUR INDECENCY.
YOU ARE AN OBSESSION YOU’RE MY OBSESSION
STUPID, WORTHLESS, NO GOOD, GODDAMN, FREELOADING SON OF A BITCH. RETARDED, BIG MOUTH, KNOW-IT-ALL, ASSHOLE, JERK. FUCK YOU.
NO, LILLIAN! WHAT ARE YOU GONNA GO, YOU’RE GONNA GO TO PARIS WITH HELEN NOW?!
YOUR SANDY HAIR FLOATS IN THE AIR... TO ME IT’S LIKE A LULLABY... I’M JUST FLYING BY... OH SO HIGH... LIKE A KITE... TIED TO A SKATE...
AWAY WITH THESE ENCIRCLING HANDS! MAY I DIE BEFORE WHAT’S MINE IS YOURS.
WHAT’S MINE IS YOURS.
HOW DO YOU UNTELL SOMETHING? YOU CAN’T. YOU CAN’T PUT WORDS BACK IN YOUR MOUTH. WHAT YOU CAN DO, IS SPREAD FALSE GOSSIP.
YOU’RE THE WORST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO ME.
THE REASON YOU HAVEN’T FELT IT IS BECAUSE IT DOESN’T EXIST. WHAT YOU CALL LOVE WAS INVENTED BY GUYS LIKE ME, TO SELL NYLONS.
MY MOTHER WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN I HAD EVER SEEN. SHE WAS ALSO THE MOST DANGEROUS.
THIS WORLD IS SO COMPLEX AND EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN CHALLENGES TO DEAL WITH. WHAT MIGHT SEEM ‘PERFECT’ ON THE OUTSIDE IS MOST LIKELY NOT.
THE END
