Melita Anti timesofmalta.com 8 September 2015 â‚Ź 230

How Melita makes its money I recently opted out of the Melita package service and in the process of changing over, Melita drew on my direct debit mandate a sum of â‚Ź90.59 after I had already paid this amount almost a week before because they would not release my mobile telephone number unless this amount had been settled. I had no option but to go to the nearest Melita branch and pay in cash to avoid the hassle of having to inform all my contacts of a number change. At the beginning of this month I discovered that Melita had again withdrawn a similar amount. On contacting Melita for a refund I was told this was not possible but as I had kept a landline account they would deduct this monthly from my credit with them. I pointed out that as they had promptlydebited me twice they should just as promptly refund me but was informed this was not possible and I was not prepared to wait months. I therefore just as promptly informed them I no longer wished to retain their landline service and to terminate it as soon as possible. I now await some smart-alec answer from Melita and wonder how long it will take them to refund my money.
