Section B: Rationale for the Game. Driven Blast Fury is a game targeted for form 5 boys’ students aiming for the Computing Matsec Exam. The underlying basis of this game is to provide a revision pack for JAVA programming while the students are playing a very popular kind of game. The game will promote further motivation for the students to revise. The idea is to indirectlyprovide an educational pack. This is because while they are driving and avoiding the obstacles in order to arrive to the destination, the educational part comes from the direct JAVA questions that the students have to correctly answer to pass from one stage to another.

Thequestions keep on getting more challenging in between stages. This means that this game is educationally ‘extrinsic’ as the educational content does not come directly from the game play but the latter is a medium to offer a different way of how to revise and prepare for the exams.

Section D: Members of the team The members of the team are Josmar Borg and Sam Cefai. The game was developed after we had discussed and designed together the structure and the framework for the game. We wanted to attract the students by coming up with a thrilling game name and so we agreed on DRIVEN BLAST FURY. Moreover, we wanted to create something that we can actually use with our students. Considering that we both teach Computing as an optional subject in the secondary schools, thus, Java programming was an ideal topic to complement all these factors.

After that we started looking for different sprites (PNG Images), backgrounds and sounds and these where edited with Adobe Photoshop and Audacity. When all resources where gathered, Josmar created the game play, while Sam catered for the JAVA questions that appears in between stages. When all was done, we both tested the game and both fixed the remaining bugs and finalized with the appropriate changes to reflect the smoothest possible game play.

This documentation was done using Google Docs. We met online at different times and by using the chatting function we concluded together this document.
