The essence of Speed Touring is the pairing of rapid on-snow travel with an array of high alpine challenges. The crowning discipline in the sport of ski mountaineering are expeditions to the 8,000 meter summits of the Himalayas and Karakorum. In these environments, it’s vital to spend as little time as possible in the high altitude danger zone in order to minimize potentially dangerous physiological risks – so speed is synonymous with safety. Dynafit Speed Touring products are extremely lightweight and give mountaineers the confidence they need get up and down the mountain quickly in difficult terrain and conditions.

POPLAR - PAULOWNIA CORE

When what‘s demanded is wider ski geometry for long, intensive ascents but also precision and good grip when edging on icy, steep terrain, then the combination of poplar and Paulownia is the ideal base to use in ski development. You get strength from Paulownia‘s long fibers, while the poplar portion gives you lightweight density. This is a core construction that has already been proved on many expeditions.

DUAL RADIUS Poplar - Paulownia Air Core POPLAR - PAULOWNIA AIR CORE

When the handling performance of a ski gives you solid response, especially on icy, steep terrain, you gain trust. The characteristics of these types of wood work well together, achieving lightness and a smooth flex with the Air Channels.

The combination of a long front radius and short rear radius gives you ultra-steady handling going into and coming out of curves. The ski therefore needs less effort for wide turns while easily negotiating tight ones. The short radius of the ski tail enables highly precise speed control on steep, icy terrain.

ASH - POPLAR RIDE CORE

In combining the high strength of ash with particularly lightweight poplar, we now have a highly responsive core with outstanding damping properties and rebound without giving up lightness. This has a particularly positive effect on power transfer to the edges and cuts down on chatter at high speeds.

The comparatively short radius of 20 metres at the binding provides perfect edge grip on steep, icy terrain. This was specially designed for extra-wide skis. The short radius at the point where the ski is at its stiffest offers ski runners the security they need on ice.

The combination of optimal damping, responsive rebound and easy handling in difficult conditions is always our goal in development. CNC-milled Air Channels lower density and at the same time optimize softer tuning of its flex. The result is a ski that handles well and can manage an enormously wide range of use with no problem.

Using impact-resistant ABS along the entire length of the ski edge from the steel edge to the top coating guarantees maximum force absorption, for example when skiing over rocks or stones. In addition, direct binding-to-ski power transfer at the edge is optimised thanks to this design.

PAULOWNIA RACE CORE

Especially for performance skiing, Paulownia delivers the ideal combination of light weight and optimal strength. For the racing category, we use only the best 10% of wood available, which we verify using a detailed testing procedure. All of this allows us to offer racers the best performance and strength.

Using less material in the sidewalls has achieved optimum weight reduction. These sidewalls are laid up in deeper horizontal layers, making them 1.5 times stronger and more impact-resistant than conventional sidewalls.

Full Micro micro sidewall This construction principle minimizes the use of materials in the side wall -- lower height with more width -- and is part of the entire length of the ski. That makes the ski stiffer and increases edge pressure. Particularly for serious ski mountaineers, that means enormous precision in edge control -- razor-thin „blades“ for steep, alpine descents when you push the limits of possibilities.

Exquisite wood quality, laminated, providing a perfect synergy of lightness and solidity. Softer torsion makes for particularly forgiving and effortless handling. Specially designed for race and speed touring.

FLEX TIP Through its 3-D carbon construction, the flex tip has become the most lightweight component with the greatest resilience and the best vibration-damping capability. Like a mountain bike’s suspension fork, it just smoothly absorbs any impact and the carbon inlay ensures a firm, swift damping effect. The 3-D geometry reduces mass and weight The slim construction of the shovel on the Nanga Parbat and Oho Oyo ensures you keep ski wander in check on sloping terrain.

RIDE tip The special carbon core in the shovel ensures an effective reduction of mass and an optimization of vibration and damping properties. The resulting smoothness without chatter -- especially in changing snow conditions -- delivers perfect precision in turn initiation and dampens impacts like a shock absorber.

double elipse rocker The two elliptical curves at the waist and at the curve of the rocker work in tandem. Depending on the effect of pressure placed on the binding area, you get varying edge lengths ideal for each situation. That guarantees optimal edging on icy, steep terrain without losing the playful lightness in turn initiation and control.

Khiôn is the first snow-dynamic boot. It has been engineered to excel in deep powder with minimal loss of speed and to minimize the effect of unexpected impacts on the boot, which might cause damage to the boot‘s components. The boot‘s compact profile is free of lateral protuberances, while the more streamlined buckle has been placed in a more central position in order to reduce drag, protect components, and ensure efficient travel through snow. Light on weight – strong on performance Koroyd is an extremely lightweight core, consisting of 95% air. It is completely breathable and thus a constant airflow is guaranteed. At the same time Koroyd excels at reducing Peak G figures – limiting the risk of brain injuries.

MIPS®

When it comes to safety, a helmet with MIPS® is the obvious choice. MIPS® imitates the brain’s way of protecting itself by giving the helmet its own low-friction layer between the outer shell and the head, to absorb much of the rotational violence created by an angled blow. Conventional helmets are tested by dropping them vertically onto a flat surface. MIPS® is constructed to deal with how most accidents occur, with angled impacts to the head. MIPS® sets a new standard in helmet safety.

Superior Energy Absorption Korody has extremely consistent and efficient energy absorption properties. Upon impact the cores crush in a completely controlled manner, decelerating energy from the impact and reducing post traumas.

Advanced Ventilation Koroyd’s tubular arrangement organizes the air and delivers it constantly and linearly through the helmet to the rider’s head. Koroyd cools your head quicker than having no material at all.

Precise and fast adjustment! The size and fit of the helmet can be modulated with one simple hand grip. By turning the small and light Boa dial a very precise micro-adjustment is possible. The speciality is that the system offers both a forward and a lateral fit adjustment. The fit system snugs to the head which allows for a floating effect and eliminates helmet hot spots. Combining the micro adjustability along with the vertical adjustment options make the BOA FS360 to the best fit system in this class.
