INTRODUCING EXV+ A NEW LENS CURVATURE DELIVERS AN UNPARALLELED FIELD OF VIEW Giro set the standard when we introduced the first EXV (Expanded View) goggle, the Onset. Now we’re excited to introduce the next breakthrough—the all new Contour goggle with EXV+. The Contour features a proprietary, semi-spherical lens curvature (6 x 1.5-degrees) that allows a wider field of view than ever before. A common misconception is that larger frames offer a wider field of view. Although counterintuitive, your peripheral vision is more often limited by the goggle’s frame and lens shape than its size. VIVID reduces eyestrain, improves reaction time, boosts confidence, and delivers precise vision without color over saturation. VIVID Lens Technology effectively manipulates blue light by letting in contrast enhancing blue light, while blocking harmful UV light. VIVID essentially filters out the haze and frees your eyes to spot your line and focus on enjoying your riding experience.
Toric in shape, this injection-molded lens mimics the form of the human eye to provide superior optics while creating increased air volume inside the goggle to help prevent fogging. Developed and perfected at the DOME, our R&D center in Santa Cruz, California, Giro’s groundbreaking Expansion View Technology (EXV) is a new frame design that creates an unparalleled field of view. We started with a helmet-compatible goggle design and then eliminated and tapered material from the frame and engineered frameless zones to optimize a massive spherical lens and yield maximum peripheral vision in our goggles.
Injection molding a cylindrical lens helps refine optics and minimize distortion that can occur in thermo-formed cylindrical lenses. Our full range of performance-engineered lens tints and mirror coatings help to enhance vision and every lens is protected by a durable, scratch-resistant coating.
Manufacturing, testing and quality control of all premium injection-molded cylindrical lenses performed by ZEISS Optics, ensure optics of the highest standard. Our new SNAPSHOT – Lens Interchange System utilizes self-locating rare earth magnets and a secure locking mechanism for fast, on-the-fly (or on the chairlift) virtually effortless lens interchange. MIPS Spherical is a refinement and evolution of the Multi-Directional Impact Protection System (MIPS). With this sophisticated design, two layers of EPP foam fit together like a ball-and-socket. This system helps protect the brain from rotational energy by allowing up to 10- to 15- millimeters of relative motion between the helmet and head during the first milliseconds of an impact.
MIPS can provide more protection in certain impacts. The main components of a MIPS-equipped helmet are: 1. The Interior Foam Liner, 2. the Low Friction Liner and 3. an elastomeric attachment system. In an angled impact, the elastomeric attachment system stretches to allow the foam liner to rotate independently around your head.

The fully integrated Conform Fit System utilizes a two-piece shell that literally forms to the rider’s head shape by expanding and contracting with the turn of a dial. A truly adaptive design, it features a durable yet semi-flexible EPP construction that provides the lowest-profile fit we’ve ever created and unsurpassed custom comfort.
Hybrid Construction merges a durable ventilated Hard Shell upper with an In-Mold Construction lower shell plus sidewalls for added protection and style. With Hybrid Construction the helmet is beefed up for added durability while remaining lightweight. Hybrid Construction also features an impact absorbing and lightweight EPS foam liner.
D2 Construction pairs two densities of Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) foam to manage both highand low-energy impacts. Additionally, EPP offers impressive resilience—this crushable foam regains its shape and retains some of its protective qualities after multiple impacts.

In-Mold Construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with the helmet’s impact-absorbing foam liner. The fusion process allows for better ventilation systems, making In-Mold helmets lighter and cooler than traditional helmets.
Hard Shell Construction produces great helmets at a great value. A rugged outer shell is molded and then attached to the EPS foam liner.
The In Form 2 System is lighter and lower profile than the original, making it even easier to dial in a custom fit in seconds—even with gloves on. The updated On-the-fly Vertical Tuning feature accommodates different goggles and head shapes for a custom fit free of gaper gap.

The In Form Fit System makes it easy to dial in a custom fit in seconds—even with gloves on. An ergo-friendly dial at the base of the helmet provides up to 6cm of adjustment and enhanced stability. The Vertical Tuning feature accommodates different goggles and head shapes for a custom fit free of gaper gap.
Auto Loc 2 is a durable self-adjusting fit system designed to take the hassle out of fitting. A supple elastic fit band at the back of the helmet merges with fixed-position straps, which adjust to cradle your head when you set the system to one of the three different circumference settings.
The discrete exterior vent design and interior channeling (including the liner and padding) combine to create optimal airflow and temperature regulation. This auto-venting technology manages airflow and temperature-motion riding, hiking, or standing static.

Our Stack Vent was developed based on research showing the majority of the warm air that can cause fogging exhausts from the center top vent of the goggle. Aligning the Stack Vent in the helmet with the vent of your goggles helps to keep them clear and fog free.
