JUDGES Ava Butzu Grand Blanc High School Grand Blanc, MI Ava Butzu advises the Echo Yearbook at Grand Blanc High School in Michigan. She finds inspiration for design in anything from gum packaging to professional web designs. She also practices power yoga to stay flexible enough to face the challenges of making each yearbook unique. The best 15 years of her teaching career have been spent advising yearbook. She encourages her Echo staff to strive for honest, current, and thorough coverage and to focus on visual packaging with clean photography as the key to developing readership. Julie Goldstein Green Valley High School Henderson, NV Julie Goldstein is an English instructor at Green Valley High School in Henderson, Nevada. She has been advising the Legacy yearbook for ten years. She grew up in Rockford, Illinois where she was the student life editor of her high school yearbook and attended the University of Iowa before moving out west to begin her teaching career. Julie is married with two sons, Justin, 15 and Michael, 12. She enjoys reading, traveling with her family, and attending yearbook conventions in her free time. Debbie Lee Hudson High School Hudson, WI Deb Lee, a 22-year adviser at Hudson High School in Hudson, Wisconsin, has always expected the most of her staffs and has gotten it. Throughout the years she has received several awards, including the 2005 Adviser of the Year Award, Chippewa Valley School Press Association as well as several 20 individual and group awards including Gold Merit Awards with Columbian 13 Honors and All American Awards with Marks of Distinction. 11
