A successful New York Fashion Week, or any of the fashion weeks, be it in NY, Paris, London or Milan is a perfect combination of great designer, beautiful clothes and beautiful elites seated on the front row. Even one of those three ingredients missing, and you have no fashion week. Each of those three components are mandatory and essential to the perfect fashion show.

In New York, Fashion Week started out as Press Week in 1943 due to the fact that designers were unable to travel to Paris to see French fashion shows during World War II. Now New York Fashion Week gives tough competition to its predecessor in Paris. And equally important to the designers and collections are the front row guests.
Above all, what makes NYFW so special is the fact that, you can't buy tickets, its invite only and front row is the most coveted. In a world, where there's few things money can't buy, it's good to know NYFW is added to the league of such rarity like love and talent. And front row is the creme de la creme, hence the top of the A-list league.

The front row is the zone to BE at. If you are on the front row then you are the top 1%. Class systems and social hierarchies are in full display during fashion week. "Where are you sitting?" or "Which row are you on?" is the most
common question during the week. The question actually translates to something deeper than just your seat location, it actually means "How important is this person?". If you listen closely, a few nights before every show, you
can hear NYC abuzz with the frantic, chaotic and non-stop cut throat discussions, at Fashion PR agencies, on where to seat their most important guests, who goes next to who, etc. At Fashion Week, Front-Row seats are badges of honor.
There are countless PR executives that help a designer like Naeem Khan decide where each of the 872 guests will sit at his runway show, only 104 of them will be in the front row. And out of these 104, only about 7 will be seated in the A-
list seats for the most important elites (photo above is of the seven seats reserved in the front row of Naeem Khan show for the 7 most important guests out of the 104 front row-ers among 872 attendees). This scenario is replicated
multiple times throughout fashion week, as top designers and their publicists prepare for over 300 shows for the week. Forget the models on the runway, the big business at Fashion Week is taking place on the front row.

It is after all, a public statement about a person's importance and front row is exclusively reserved for A-list elites, celebrities and fashion editors. In the past few years, movie stars have been added to this list.
The front row guests are THE most photographed before, during and after a show. The Who's Who of the A-list world are also the most watched, the front rowers are crammed together in the most expensive and
exclusive real estate during fashion week: THE FRONT ROW. New York Fashion Week S/S 2017 was abuzz with beautiful, talented and influential celebrities.

On Innovation, front row-er Anna Wintour: Vogue's Anna Wintour admired the innovative presentation formats, and an increase in optimism from all
corners. "Whether it was Tommy
Hilfiger's carnival at the pier, or Rufus Wainright singing at Michael Kors' very joyous show, I felt there was a huge effort to be inventive and celebrate the art of fashion",

On fashion uniting the world, front row-er Pritan Ambroase: Recently appointed face of Global Luxury, also known by his title Global Luxury Ambassador Pritan Ambroase says, "I
congratulate each and every designer on pulling off fashion week. Having seen the behind the scenes, it is‌‌ Beautiful chaos. When fashion is done right, it embodies an era, it becomes a part of a tale, a beautiful tale. It is hard for me to pick a favorite designer. Each designer and their collection, bring with them their own story, their personal tale and their personal experiences from their diverse backgrounds around the world. And that is what I love about fashion week, it is about the story of the unity of the world told through clothes and style. Be it, Ralph Lauren and his true Americana, Prabal Gurung inspired by his beautiful Nepal, Chanel pioneering liberty and delivering chic
Paris, Chiara Boni's sleekness from her theatrical Italy, the dream-iness of the Marchesa duo from their iconic London, Tom Ford and his rediscovery of the classics, John Paul Ataker's Numan Nimet's Babylonian fairytale from his historical Turkey, freshness of Alex Vinash from unique Argentina, to me, it's all beautiful in its diverse way. Aside from the designers stylists and models, Fashion week is also a result of many great crew members that guarantee a seamless show, the two people I was extremely impressed by are showrunner/manager Keith Brennan and photographer Nicholas Hunt. Fashion week is more of a cultural show and I am happy to be sitting here witnessing history and eras being made."
On the admission of Hollywood celebrities into fashion, front row-er Eva Longoria: Eva Longoria states, "I started
coming to fashion shows in the mid-2000s, a time when actresses didn’t often go to shows. Photographers were everywhere. As I took my seat, I wondered: “Oh, my God, do I cross my legs? Do I not cross my legs? Am I going to trip a model?” The seats were so tiny. The tents were so hot. Then the show started, and it was over before I even realized." On giving back, front row-er Prabal Gurung:

One of the most respected designers is Prabal Gurung, whose clothes are the one that every Hollywood ALister wears on the red carpet, including the First Lady Michelle Obama. He hails from Nepal, and says, "My clothes are about
celebrating women who love, and are passionate about, both politics and fashion. So I decided to revolve my SS17 collection around these objectives. My collection includes jewellery made by Nepali artisans from back home, because I believe that once you have a platform and an audience, you should be able to leverage it for others. After all, somebody opened the door for me, and I should also leave the door open for someone else.”

On changes in the fashion industry, front row-er Tom Ford:
On the changing nature of the runway gearing more towards the see now - buy now collections and how that impacts red carpet fashion, Tom Ford says, "Out of all
of it, something that works better will become the norm. I personally feel this formula is a good one if it works. It only makes sense that you spend the millions of dollars promoting a collection when the
things are actually in the store. And about red carpet fashion - that’s different because I usually make red carpet wear custom … I made one for Amy Adams the other night [for] Venice. It looked great so I’m immediately copying it to put it in our stores. But most of those I do from scratch for special events. I make Beyoncé’s costumes a lot. I make things for actresses all the time, but they don’t usually want to wear something from the collection."
On what it takes to be successful at fashion week, front row-er Pritan Ambroase:
"Talent always shines through, after a particular show, I complimented one of the designers backstage, on his collections and he humbly told me that he had
worked very hard on it. But it is about more than just working hard, most people work hard, but the true greats stand out, because of their TALENT. Talent is unmissable. I don’t know women's fashion as well as Anna Wintour or Ralph Lauren does, but I can see when something is great. In
fact, I don't know fashion, but I do know style. But then again I like only forever and style is forever unlike fashion which is temporary. My style and values just like me, are without limitations of time or boundaries, thus a forever classic!"

On missing the runway, front rower Tyson Beckford:
"I do miss it, but designers, I have to be inspired. Michael’s inspired me. So I’m going to do it. I might be fat, and old, but I’m going to do it."

On the meaning of fashion industry in the world, front row-er Pritan Ambroase:
"I find a personal meaning in everything in this world. Aside from being a Global Luxury Ambassador, I am also a Philanthropist and Humanitarian which means I look at things from various different perspectives. After all, all of life is perspective. To many fashion week might be fickle and meaningless, see to me I see fashion weeks as something that unites the world in art, fashion is art. Fashion industry, Hollywood and World Cinema are capable of great things, and that has been proven. For those weeks, be it in New York, London, Paris, Milan, etc the world unites in the name of fashion/art. The designers are from all the
over the world, the people invited are from all over the world, the clothes are worn all over the world. And that I love‌.. I love the world uniting, be it for art, fashion, sport, movies, etc and hopefully someday for politics. Especially in this current election climate where so much hate is on display, it is refreshing to see a week dedicated to celebrating talent, people and fashion, no matter where it comes from. Many of the projects I have done with United Nations and future collaborations too, we have utilized fashion industry, Hollywood and world cinema, these industries are now instrumental in helping to unite the world and make it a better place."

On having family on the front row for support, front row-er Victoria Beckham:
“David is so great. I couldn’t do any of this without him,” Victoria said
about her husband David. “He is very
supportive and it means I can come away and work and know he is being the best dad looking after the kids. We work very well
together, because David travels a lot and when he travels I am at home. There is always someone there with the children.”
