Micro Urban

2013

Reinventing responsible affordable housing with an emphasis on regenerative design International Micro Housing Ideas Competition . Denver Architectural League . First prize location River North District . Denver . CO . USA status unbuilt . ideas project period May 2013 What if we could take advantage of the project’s location by providing an urban design approach to Denver’s downtown river? During the spring, the building units shed their secondary walls into the river. During the summer, these pods provide several functions: aquaculture pods for fish cultivation to help stabilize the natural river ecology, water treatment pods through natural processes with native thick grass plants, kayak checkpoints, energy pods for harvesting energy with river turbines, walking areas for learning tours and insulation pods for tall grasses harvesting. During the fall and winter months these pods with grown grass get attached to the building units to increase insulation. Come spring time, they are released back into the river for another cycle of plant growth. The housing units types are customizable to specific needs of an individual and are assembled onsite, which provides flexibility to users as they can add-on or take away at any time. The scaffolding-like structure provides a grounding structure while the units are built freely throughout. As the units are built, open spaces occur creating a community environment for the users. credits

Milan Forum

2011

Master Thesis Project . Faculty of Architecture . University of Belgrade Space of Multi-Culture / EXPO 2015 location Porta Volta . Milano . Italy status student project period spring 2011 Milan Forum is a culture supermarket. A citizen is a consumer. This project is one of the steps on the way to a cosmopolitan city. It gives another incentive in the transition from an industrial to a new tendency of a postindustrial city of creative industries. Forum is a space of gathering and with principles of participation and inclusivity it develops citizenship, as the ultimate identity. With the Forum, Milan gets a new place opposed to a non-place phenomenon. mentor

Belgrade - Healthy City

2008

Studio Project . Faculty of Architecture . University of Belgrade Urbanism . Third Belgrade - Healthy City location Belgrade . Serbia status student project period fall 2008 A project that creates itself. The idea is to give just a starting impulse and direction its perfomance and to let a user of the space create and form said space, creating an identity of the region and a feeling of belonging to a certain place. Sometimes the best reaction of an architect is to suppress themself from the construction, creating a necessary frame but leaving a user the possibility of enjoying the free space. Natural potential is the most important concern for defining the goal of the project. Three paths (visual, audio, tactile) activate senses and lead a human through ambients, where he would activate something that has been neglected in todays technological and computerized world, letting him choose his own path. Paths lead to the river and interconnect with it. mentor
