ABOUT THE PROJECT Terre Haute’s very own Village partnered with environment program in two apartment homes in 2018.
WestMinster ISU’s Built redesigning the fall of
Multiple groups of three were asked to design an apartment home that accommodated the residential needs. After three weeks, we were asked to present our proposed idea of the new apartment plan to the residents and the staff, in which they would choose two designs that would eventually be built throughout the semester. Our design was chosen by the residents and staff for the renovation of the apartment home.
Proposed Floor Plan
The design, The Ivy, is an updated single bedroom apartment with warm tones and earthy materials that make the space feel like home. The materials were carefully selected to ensure the safety of our clients. Furnishings were both comfortable and practical for clients above the age of 55. ABOUT THE PROJECT The Mental Health America of West Cetral Indiana partnered with ISU’s Built Environment to help find a creative, innovative, sustainable, and profesional design for a tiny house. The home is to accommodate those who are homeless veterans in poverty to help give them shelter. The tiny home needed to be constructed on campus at Indiana State University and would be later transported on site. Due to the size of the lab, we were constrained on the size of the building. The Modern Tiny home was a total of 236 square feet with a modern touch for innovation. Natural lighting was a must, therefore, I made sure the orientation of the building played a role due to the window placements. After presentations, the Mental Health America of West Central Indiana took my proposed design as an example to be presented in order for a Tiny Home village to be constructed located in Terre Haute, IN. ABOUT THE PROJECT The goal of this commercial space is to create a Social Station - a first of its kind Co-Working space specialized for today’s retailers. The goal was to encourage adaptability, health, well being, and an emphasis on an active, engaging space. Design considerations included thermal comfort and temperature, noise/acoustical control, sustainable design principles, security, well-being with a focus on state of mind and mental and emotional health, and is a space that is accessible and a usable building. Alpha Co-Working is formally designed to accommodate the needs of the talented minds who utilize the space. The length of the existing building was used to its advantage by dividing the space accordingly. The modern gray, black, and brown color scheme gives off a sense of professionalism, privacy, space, and diversity a working space needs in order for the clients to thrive.

ABOUT THE PROJECT This residential design is a two story home that is inviting and unique at the same time. By using Revit, I was able to create a space that accommodated all necessary needs of a residential home. The point of this exercise was to understand and practice the use of the Revit software to sharpen our skills and creative problem solving skills. Second Floor Plan
I was to detail every section in terms of what the walls consisted of, the shaping of the unique roof, the exterior layers, and the foundation walls. The main goal of the project was to achieve a hands-on experience with Revit in terms of strengthening our skills to use the program.
