Welcome to the very first Quarterly Market Report for Sippy Downs, 2017. For the last 12 months, the Sippy Downs market has seen an incredible +5.2% growth in property values where most market places have only seen +3 - 4% growth, making Sippy Downs one of the most highest performing market places on the Sunshine Coast.

In the year 2015, 217 Sippy Downs properties transacted where as in 2016, only 200 properties came to the market and sold. So although we have seen a lower number of properties sell, we’ve seen a jump in the Sippy Downs median sale price from $455,000 to now $479,000 in the last 12 months. More and more buyers are seeing Sippy Downs as one of the more favourable areas to live being purely based on the newly available amenities at residents fingertips. We’ve seen the grand opening of the new Coles located at the end of Sippy Downs Drive which officially opened its doors on the 21st January. This will give local residents added choice when it comes to buying their groceries, also saving time when commuting to the nearest Coles which used to be in Maroochydore. The project took over 12 months in construction time and several years in the development stages.

Alongside the new Coles, we have also seen several high traffic public ammenities upgraded such as the skate park on the corner of Sir Raleigh Drive & Statesman Circuit, and several new foot paths making safer routes to and from school for local kids. Community News

A $500,000 federal grant towards the Nambour Heritage Tramway project, announced by Member for Fairfax Ted O’Brien and Federal Energy Minister Josh Frydenberg, has tipped the fundraising efforts over the target and put the $2.1 million project on track to reality. The Sunshine Coast Council is set to contribute $1.5 million to the project and locals raised more than $120,000 through the Tramfest events to help bring the project to life. Roughly a kilometre in length, the first stage will link the Coles shopping centre with Aldi, while plans for the second stage will see the tramway continued to the Nambour Showgrounds.
