Descriptions In the memories of the people of Songjiang, Shanghai, finless porpoises are often seen "dancing" in the upper reaches of the Huangpu River. However, with urbanisation, Songjiang's water system and urban biosystems have been affected. Based on the classification of Songjiang's land use, we summarise the main causes of water pollution in agricultural, residential and industrial areas, and propose strategies for intervention. The ultimate goal is the restoration of biodiversity and the creation of an urban symbiotic river that can live in harmony with the city.
