Mary Adcox has explored fabric and fiber art from an earlier age, blessed with a mother who taught and encouraged her to find creative outlets that she enjoyed. She began quilting 21+ years ago while pregnant with her first/only child and after completing a foundation paper pieced dinosaur quilt, she was hooked. Her background in mechanical engineering combined with her discovery of the modern quilting aesthetic with all its wonderful bold, contemporary designs and colors has really opened up a new world of possibilities to explore. Largely self-taught, she has taken classes with a variety of established fabric artists to improve her knowledge and technique, including foundation paper piecing classes with Carolyn Friedlander, Amy Friend, and Jo Avery. Mary is a member of the Memphis Area Modern Quilt Guild and currently serves as their program coordinator. She also is the president of the Memphis Arts Collective and designs jewelry which she sells locally.

Jessica Lyons I learned to sew 15 years ago when my Granny taught me to hand quilt. I quickly became obsessed and since then have been sewing and quilting regularly. When my oldest son was born in 2014, I learned machine & hand embroidery, garment sewing and pattern drafting. I sew for my daughter now on a daily basis. My favorite type of sewing is classic orange vintage children’s garments in fun prints!

Patrice Lewis has been a sewist for 50 years. Sounds crazy but she learned sitting in the floor of her mothers sewing room. Her beginning sewing was Barbie clothes and dresses for her little sister and then as the years progressed there wasn’t any sewing project she wouldn’t try. Patrice worked in the home decor business for 20 plus years which allowed her to stay home and raise her 3 children. She will tell you that her gift of sewing is God given and she loves to make others happy with her talents. Patrice has worked in fabric stores and has sold sewing machines in the past. She recently has renewed her love for quilting and loves to teach sewing on many levels from handwork to machine work.
