Digital Equipment

Hand Held Devices

Hand held devices are smartphones such as Iphones , samsungs , blackberry and a lot more. The only realy bad thing is that because of the small sensors the performance when taking a shot in certain spaces may be poor because of lack of lighting. another problem is that sometimes when taking a picture it may lag a bit but apart from that depending on how new your phone is taking pictures on it can come out very good. Large Format Cameras cameras were

Plate cameras are often connoted by.

Manual Camera, Auto-

In the photography world a manual camera is when the user adjusts different settings depending on how they want they want the shot to be took, the process of this is that the user just needs to set his shot straight into the position they want and wait until all the blurr is gone in other words focused. the reason why its different to automatic cameras is because with those cameras its less manual all you do is just find you shot and take it.

Automatic cameras is more about the camrea exposure, there is a manual mode where you can change the settings and that but apart from that everything else is done in half a click off the picture button on the right hand side of the camera.

Medium Format Camera And Lightweight Cameras

A medium format camera is normally known for the size of a 120 film format in the photography world media format cameras means that the camera has quickly adapted from the format film model or the cameras has made its own use of making the sensor become larger .

Light weight cameras can also be held comftably in the hand hence why its called lightweight .lightweight cameras can also be sed on a tripod insted holding it in your hand all day

Extreme Sport Cameras - GoPros - Drift Steal And iON

GoPros are good for on the move type of filming or taking pictures, for an example when trying to take a video whilst skateboarding it ca be riksy and become a health and safety issue. with the GoPros you can just attach it to your helmet and skate as fast as you want whilst recording and getting good recording footage

Camera Components

The viewfinder is where photographers normally look through to see if there image is focused properly, majority of viewfinders all sadly suffer from parallax on the other hand the single lens reflex camera allows you to comftably use the main optical system. Digital Shutter System

The digital shutter system allows light to be passed through only for a limited amount of time, it exposes photographic film or sensitive digital sensors to capture a permanent image of scene.

Lens

Through the camera lenses we can see if a image is either blurry or fully focused. Lenses are small bits of glass which does a massive job by refracting light. there are 3 types of lenses normal lens , wide angle lenses and telephoto lenses. Image sensors

A image sensor is a part of the cameras device what just captures light immediately when taking a shot then quickly converts the image back to the viewfinder or LCD monitor.

Aperture An aperture is different size holes where light travels through, it also controls the brightness of a shot as well.

Shutter

A camera shutter stays closed all the time until firing a shot, when the picture is take the camera shutter then exposes the light what has been passed through the lens. Memory card

Memory card

An SD card stands for secure digital which is used in digital camera mainly just to store images or videos and upload them back to a computer or laptop to develop or get rid of it. File storages

File storage is just putting data into files and folders and also presented to the system storing and retrieving it.

lighting

Tungsten light is an artificial light for an example like a lamp that’s used to make a certain warmish cosy scene.

LED

Led is a two lead semiconductor light source, they’re not the brightest lights but just like most LED lights its monochromatic.

Reflectors

Reflectors are an improvised action used to create a specific type of lighting, maybe to make some look brighter or darker which can create the sense of a scene. Natural light

Natural light is just from the sun itself and surroundings around us used in for a photoshot.

Colour temperature

colour temperature’s are just a range of different colours used to connote a mood for a scene for an example if there was a darkish orange in a bedroom scene the audience would feel as if the rooms warm and cosy.

Camera support Tripod

a tripod is used for supporting and maintain the weight of the camera instead of holding it and moving it about in your hand. It also provides stability against downward forces and horizontal forces.

Monopod

Monopods are good for street photography, wild life and in other words anything to do with fast on the go movements. Hand held

hand held camera is just a small light device held in the camera persons hand, there normally used to make short little films around 10-25minutes long. These cameras can also be used on tripods as well

Drone

Drones are easier and cheaper way of getting a birds eye view of a birds eye view shot, there important because they can be used for all sorts of things such as just flying about and enjoying yourself and also catching images far in the air which can be later on be used in a major movie.

Exposure

Normally good combination between shutter speed and aperture also when nothing is lost I the shadow its classed as correct exposure.

Underexposed could mean loss of shadow and very dark around some areas of the photo stopping the image from revealing its true self this is normally known as blocked up shadow or crushed blacks. Overexposed just means too much light in the photo somewhat giving it a fake look, this stops you from seeing the full potential of the picture this is known as the term white looking or a washed out image. Auto Exposure Bracketing when this is selected the camera takes 3 or more at all different exposures and all your left with is the job to see which looks better.

HDR

HDR - highly dynamic range is used to create a large amount of luminosity which you cant take with just a standard digital camera or in fact taking a natural photo

to remove unwated material first of all find an image and what bit you want to get rid off then press crop or magic wand tool tool to get the bit you want out of the way.

convert files this means just changing one file and putting it into another file.

Compressing files compressing files is smaller than its orginal size, an advantage of this is that its faster to download and it allows a lot more data to be stored.

File transfers

file transfer for an example is moving something from a computer to ethier a phone or laptop with all the documents you had previously

file formating

file formarting is becasically having an organised storage where you keep valuable information File compression file compression makes things smaller hence why it has compression in the name, so when sending things it will go through a lot more faster

file storage

file storaging is keeping documents or work you want saved in a certain area incase you want to go back over it and edit it.
