The design of the Parish Center addition for St. Matthias Catholic Church provides a welcoming new visual identity and entrance to the existing church campus from Burrell Street. A warm and inviting new chapel is the focal point at one end of the lobby, drawing visitors in for reflection and worship. Radiating off of the lobby space are two wings. TRAINOR GLASS CO. Chicago, Illinois
2010 AIA Excellence in Design Award American Institute of Architects—Eastern Illinois Chapter
2010 ALA Design Merit Award Association of Licensed Architects This project presented an exciting design challenge: to use glass as a dynamic building material, and break from the idea of glass used only as a "window" between interior and exterior spaces. Collaborating with the Client in the new venture of a “Design Center” concept created many opportunities for innovative uses of glass. This Chicago-style loft took on a whole new look once laminated glass and textured glass work surfaces dominated the space. Glass tile on the floor leads the customer to a metal and glass front coffee kiosk. Glass ceiling tiles float above a seating area surrounded by a glass railing system. A glass barn-door separates the public area from employee office spaces. The many forms of glass update this classic space into a modern showpiece for the Client’s new direction. completion 2010 Gross area 8,000 square feet

LANSING MUNICIPAL CENTER Lansing, Illinois
2010 AIA Excellence in Design Award American Institute of Architects—Eastern Illinois Chapter The new Lansing Municipal Center features a generous entrance lobby with transactions desks for the General Village Business and the Planning/Building department. The lobby is intended to be welcoming and feature displays of village heritage and current community events. There is a community meeting room off of the main lobby facing Ridge road that serves village business in the day and various community groups in the evening. There is a central corridor that runs through the village staff office area that leads to the mayoral office. This corridor acts as a gallery that exhibits the identity of the village. The Linden Group has committed to maximizing natural light for staff throughout the building and has added skylights in areas to reduce energy cost and the need for artificial light. This makes the new municipal center a more enjoyable place to visit and work. There have been dramatic changes to the exterior appearance of the building in order to create a place that pronounces itself as the municipal center of the village. The new look offers an identity to Lansing. completion 2009 Gross area 14,000 square feet

AWARD WINNING DESIGN
GEORGE WASHINGTON SAVINGS BANK Orland Park, Illinois
2007 Gold Award—Craftsmanship Illinois Indiana Masonry Council George Washington Savings Bank’s Headquarters is set on a prominent corner in Orland Park, Illinois. This location, along with the building’s orientation and architectural details provide a sense of civic monumentality while maintaining a neighborhood friendly corner bank atmosphere. Effective use of quality masonry materials combined with sensitive design gives the building a distinct identity along LaGrange Road and is inviting to patrons. The Chicago branch of George Washington Savings Bank is located on Ashland Avenue in a new mixed-use building in the North side Lakeview Neighborhood. It is George Washington’s first branch designed as a tenant build-out. The simple, yet contemporary build-out was completed in a short timeframe and with a conservative budget. Some design features used to achieve these goals were exposed ceilings and ductwork, industrial type lighting fixtures, and a custom millwork transaction counter. Completion 2005 Gross Area 24,000 square feet
HALEY’S MANSION Joliet, Illinois
2006 AIA Excellence in Design Award American Institute of Architects—Eastern Illinois Chapter The mansion was built in 1891 for Patrick Haley, an Irish immigrant / Mayor of Joliet and industrialist. Situated on a corner near downtown Joliet the residential structure has stood for over 100 years. Due to the smaller Victorian rooms and a need for open floor space to serve larger wedding banquets the owner had utilized a temporary tent structure directly adjacent the mansion. After a number of successful years it was decided to add a dramatic permanent structure for banquets up to 300 people. Careful studies were undertaken to design an addition that would not overwhelm the original H.H. Richardson style building. The solution sought to create an elevation that emulates key features of the mansion while introducing a new conservatory component for interest. Completion April 2005 Gross Area 10,000 square feet
AWARD WINNING DESIGN
40 KANSAS Frankfort, Illinois
2005 Gold Award—Best of the Brick Illinois Indiana Masonry Council 40 Kansas is a mixed use commercial and business structure nestled in downtown Frankfort. The site was home to a wellknown German restaurant until it was destroyed by a fire. The new design worked to achieve a number of goals: compliment the existing architecture of the neighborhood, create a structure that provided excellent exposure for a destination restaurant and utilize fire resistant materials. A variety of brick masonry period elevations compose the two street facades. LGI researched traditional details in brick: quoins, corbels, basket weaves, projected soldiers, etc. to give authenticity to the project. Careful attention was paid to the brick selections so that they could stand alone yet work with the structure in whole. Kansas Silverdale limestone accents in a variety of finishes strengthen the structure’s theme. Projected balconies over the sidewalks and artistic stone sign panel details complete the design. Completion Summer 2004 Gross Area 11,000 square feet
A COLLABORATIVE AND INCLUSIVE PROCESS LGI firmly believes that design is a partnership and that architecture must grow out of a continuing dialogue between the design team and their client. The more closely we connect with our clients the better we understand their needs. Our best projects are programmed, planned, and designed in close collaboration with our clients.
PLANNING/PROGRAMMING Our first task will be to meet with you to establish a complete and thorough understanding of your goals, program, budget parameters, and to finalize a space program for your project. It is important we understand the critical issues of your project. At this point in the process costs will be considered in general terms. We will work with you to establish reasonable budgets and expectations. As we develop the design throughout the project we will provide estimates to ensure you understand the project costs and keep the costs within your budget. The design team will present alternatives and options throughout the process so that the most cost effective design decisions can be made.
CONCEPTUALDESIGN After developing the space program and preliminary budget we will begin the design phase of the project. During the design phase, close client collaboration will be maintained, involving all appropriate client representatives. At the end of this phase a comprehensive package with detailed cost estimate will be submitted for staff review and board approval.
