Navy & Marine Corps Birthdays Cake Cutting Ceremonies at Guam High School Written by: Pim Paisarn. Guam High School JROTC Public Affairs Officer
On October 13th and November 10th, the Guam High NJROTC cadets, instructors, and VIPs celebrated the 246th Navy and Marine Corps Birthdays with cake cutting ceremonies at Guam High School. VIPs that were invited to join the celebration honoring the birthdays included Colonel Bopp and Master Gunnery Sergeant Ramirez of Camp Blaz Guam, and Ms. Katrina Watts and Mr Chad Struhs, the Principal and Assistant Principal at Guam High School. With them, the oldest cadets and youngest
cadets in the program participated. After the cake was cut, the first piece of cake was given to the eldest cadet, and then passed to the youngest cadet. This symbolized experienced cadets who have been in the company longest, nurturing and passing the responsibilities and knowledge to the younger cadets. This event helps to promote patriotism showing the love and respect to the Navy and Marine Corps
