This class will focus on helping individuals manage conflict by examining their attitude and behaviors when faced with challenging situations.

COMMAND FINANCIAL SPECIALIST (CFS) REFRESHER TRAINING

February 10 • 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

This training will review and sharpen skills learned during the initial CFS training to include: the financial planning worksheet, solution-focused financial counseling, case studies, and developing the CFS program.

AREA ORIENTATION BRIEF/INTERCULTURAL RELATIONS (AOB/ICR)

February 14 - 16 • 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

February 28 - March 2 • 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

AOB/ICR is a 3-day programfor active duty personnel, DoD civilians and their family members who just arrived on Guam. Information on Guamculture, base support services, and extracurricular opportunities on the island will be provided.

Interview Techniques

February 15 • 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Feel more confident at your next job interview by preparing positive answers to difficult questions, dressing for success, and learning the importance of body language along with positive attitude. Interview follow-up and salary negotiations are also discussed.

Saving And Investi Ng

February 16 • 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Learn the three elements of a sound savings plan, explain how savings bonds and mutual funds work, discuss basic elements of the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), and explain the benefits of compound interest and time.

SYSTEM TRAINING FOR EFFECTIVE PARENTING (S.T.E.P.) SCHOOL AGE

February 21 • 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Parents will gain an understanding of why children misbehave, learn to communicate, identify effective discipline techniques, and how to prevent problems.

February 23 • 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

This workshop is designed to provide specific guidelines and information to Command Sponsor Coordinators or those designated to be a sponsor for incoming personnel.
