This class guides you through the processes of determining your career path, selecting a degree program, comparing colleges, and completing a college application. You will also learn to examine funding options including the GI Bill and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

HOME BUYING April 25 • 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

An overview of the home buying process which includes shopping for a house, choosing the right mortgage, closing the sale, and the VA housing program.

COMMAND SPONSORSHIP April 25 • 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.

This workshop provides specific guidelines and information to Command Sponsor Coordinators or those designated as sponsors.

OMBUDSMAN BASIC TRAINING April 29 – May 2 • 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Required training for those assigned as Command Ombudsman. Training is also open to Chaplains, COs, XOs, CMCs, and their spouses.

VA EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS BRIEF April 29 • 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Brief will cover the differences between the Montgomery GI Bill and Post 9/11 GI Bill. Transferability of education benefits to spouse and/or dependents will also be discussed.

RESUME WRITING April 30 • 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Navy Child & Youth Programs offer Give Parents a Break (GPAB) events every month. These events are available at $5 per hour to all individuals who are registered with Child & Youth Programs and have attended the mandatory parent orientation. There is a 24hour cancellation fee of $15. Open to parents with children 6 weeks to 12 years old.

Available for just $5 per hour.

SPORTS & FITNESS AVAILABLE SERVICES I BENCHED A B-52 Coral Reef Fitness Center, Andersen Air Force Base This challenge brings the colossal size B-52 Stratofortress and the fighter jet F-15 from the flightline into the weight room! Participants will be required to benchpress either the weight of the B-52 (cumulative 185,000 pounds) or the F-15 (cumulative 68,000 pounds). Prizes will be granted after approval of weight logs by Coral Reef Fitness Center staff members. Members must bench press using either the dumbbells or the bar only to earn points. No squatting or deadlifting will be accepted. Weight benched must be logged in after every workout. The challenge will be tracked and based on the integrity system.
