shoe tech Your feet are your point of power transfer: To get every watt back that you put into the pedals, it takes a shoe that’s efficient, comfortable, and secure. That’s why we’ve spent countless hours working with Dr. Andy Pruitt to develop our Body Geometry shoe technology—to help riders move forward as quickly as possible.

WHY IT’S GREAT Body Geometry ergonomics Scientifically developed, medically tested features that provide true performance and/or ergonomic benefits Rider Benefits Performance »» Improved efficiency through improved biomechanics. Riders can do same amount of work with a lower heart rate and less fatigue, helping them ride longer. »» Compensates for collapse of the varus forefoot (normal in 80% of the global population) and longitudinal arch to maximize power and avoid possible injury.

Ergonomics »» Improved comfort on the bike allows the rider to concentrate on pedaling, not pain.

How does it work? 1.5mm Varus Wedge built into the forefoot of the shoe prevents forefoot collapse and minimizes inward knee movement Longitudinal Arch built into the outsole of the shoe fills excess volume under arch and prevents collapse »» BG High Performance footbeds offer three levels of Longitudinal Arch support Metatarsal Pad lifts and separates the bones of the forefoot, reducing the pressure that causes “hot foot”

FACT Carbon Outsole Rider Benefits Lighter weight shoe = less rotational mass Stiffer, more efficient platform for effective power transfer Eliminates the fatigue associated with softer outsoles that flex around the pedal How does it work?

Torsion Box technology utilizes a carbon outsole layup with vertical side walls to increase sole stiffness while reducing overall weight Layup is specifically tailored for experience »» Uni-directional carbon fiber used on road shoes to cut weight to a minimum »» 3k weave used on MTB shoes for increased durability »» Glass fiber used in triathlon shoes to reflect road heat

D-Link Adjustable Strap Rider Benefits Increased comfort Less interference with crank arm and chain guides Simple operation and secure hold How does it work?

Wide pad under top strap dissipates pressure across in-step Entire top strap can be adjusted side-to-side to keep pad centered Sleek design keeps buckles and straps tucked tightly against shoe Corresponding teeth on strap and housing allow incremental adjustments,

S1 LACING PATTERN The S1 reels on our S-Works shoes are micro-adjustable to customize fit in specific areas of the foot.

while ensuring a secure hold

Experience-Specific Design Shoes specifically engineered for different types of riders and different terrain How does it work?

Road

Stiff FACT carbon or nylon soles maximize power transfer Micromatrix uppers keep weight down for the least possible rotational weight

Mountain FACT carbon or nylon soles keep shoes light and stiff Tough Micromatrix uppers, replaceable tread lugs, and scuff guards increase durability

Triathlon Super rigid FACT carbon soles overwrapped in fiberglass help reflect road heat Holes at the bottom of the outsole drain excess water after the swim A heel loop helps athletes quickly pull on the shoe while riding Webbing at the inside of the upper lets athletes stage the shoe in an upright position for quick transitions

The Boa L4 Reel Platform

The Boa S1 Reel Platform

The new Boa® L4 Reel combines the precision of a highly tuned time piece with exceptional closure strength. It possesses a direct drive 1:1 power train activated by an easy-grip, low-profile knob.

Designed in exclusive collaboration between Boa and Specialized, the S1 allows incremental, on-the-fly tightening and loosening, as well as ultimate zonal adjustability.

Durable Both the L4 and S1 platforms feature the NC735 lace, a top choice for its unrivaled durability. NC735 withstands up to 120lbs in laboratory strength tests (far beyond the force exerted by even a pro cyclist).

Dual-zone closure system The S-Works Road and Mountain shoes feature dual S1 reels to isolate specific areas of the foot for a truly customizable fit.

Quick release Quick on. Quick off. One quick pull of the knob immediately disengages the lace, saving time when seconds count.
