ABOUT THE PROPERTY

The preserve maintains the health of the Shakett Creek estuary system, providing important habitat, open space and water access along a major urban corridor. Shady trails meander beneath picturesque live oaks and slash pines offering occasional glimpses of the creek.

GETTING THERE

I-75 Exit 195/Laurel Road. West on Laurel Road for 2.8 miles. Left on U.S. 41 and go south 1.7 miles. Left on Colonia Lane, go 0.3 miles. Take a third left on Pocono Trail East, go 0.2 miles. Entrance on right. Limited parking.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Enjoy the maritime hammock, tidal swamp and scrubby flatwoods. Wildlife viewing may include: ospreys, grey squirrels, and a variety of wading birds.
