Research project`s focus is the identification of the needs and problems presented in four main topics (social, economic, cultural and environmental) in which the community of Guapi is develop. Guapi is a pilot community for the strengthening of Afro-Colombian life and culture.
Once we did a multisecular analysis, we identified that the community have a socio-cultural and economic development based on the unplanned exploitation of natural resources. This has carried to lose the foundations of the first Afro-Colombian settlements, lack of cultural identity and decrease of importance of the natural environment, and physical and spiritual connection with the Guapi river, which is vital for survival population.
Given this, there are several problems, such as inadequate management and exploitation of water resources, insufficient public space, scenarios for recreation, sports and traditional cultural activities, generating a loss of cultural identity and evidencing a disconnection of citizens with their environmen
