WITH A TOTAL OF 8 STATIONS, ALL OF THEM OVERGROUND;THE LINE 6 FOLLOWS A HALF-RING STARTING AT KING ABDULLAH FINANCIAL DISTRICT, PASSING BY IMAM MOHAMED BIN SAUD UNIVERSITY AND ENDING AT PRINCE SAAD IBN ABDULRAHMAN AL AWAL ROAD. IT RUNS MOSTLY ELEVATED EXCEPT ALONG SHEIKH HASAN BIN HUSEIN BIN ALI STREET.

ABBEY STREET IS ONE OF THE MOST PROMINENT AND IMPORTANT VENUES IN DUBLIN CITY CENTER.

THE NEW CLINK HOSTEL WILL BE LOCATED IN THERE AND SEEKS TO BE A NEW MEETING POINT IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN FOR BOTH, ITS LOCATION AND ITS DESIGN WITH AN OPEN GROUND FLOOR THAT GENERATES DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES AND MOVEMENT. THE TOP FLOORS ARE MADE OF BRICK AS PER THE SURROUNDING CONTEXT WITH THE LAST TWO FLOORS SET BACK AND MADE OF ZINC.

THE PROPOSAL HAS AS A MAIN GOAL THE PRESERVATION OF THE VIRGINITY OF THE BIG SPACE OF THE INDUSTRY. WHEN THERE IS SO MANY DONE, TRYING TO PRESERVE, TO TOUCH THE MINIMAL, TO RESPECT THE HISTORY. WE TRIED TO STABLISH SOME STRATEGIES THAT CARRY OUT THIS ACTIONS.

A INTERVENTION THAT MAY BE REVERSIBLE WITH THE TIME. A IDEA OF PRESERVE THE MONUMENTALITY, THE ORIGIN, THE ARCHITECTURE. THIS IDEAS TAKEN FROM THE ARCHITECT IGNASI DE SOLÁ MORALES WERE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT IN ALL THE PROCESS OF DESIGN OF THE PROPOSAL. THE MAIN BODY OF THE PROJECT ENTER IN THE FACTORY BY OCCUPYING THE ONLY EMPTY SPACE LEFT BETWEEN THE THREE LEVELS OF THE FACTORY. THE NEW OBJECT WILL ACT AS MEDIATOR OF THE NEW AND THE OLD.

IT IS CAPABLE TO BE EXTENDED WITH THE TIME IN CASE OF NECESSARY, AND BEING REMOVE WITHOUT AFFECTING THE OLD BUILDING IN ANY FORM.

THIS NEW OBJECT THAT WE CALLED “BICHO” WILL BE THE PROGRAM CONTAINER. ALL THE SPACES DEMANDED WILL BE INSIDE THIS NEW OBJECT, LEAVING THE BIGGEST PROGRAM, THE SCAPE ROOM, HAPPENING IN THE MAIN SPACE OF THE FACTORY. A SYSTEM OF LIGHTWEIGHT MOBILE PANELS MADE OF PLADUR (THE COMPANY THAT SPONSOR THE COMPETITION) WILL CREATE DIFFERENT PAVILIONS IN THE WHOLE SPACE OF THE FACTORY, LETTING THE USER ENJOY THE SPATIALITY OF THE FACTORY AND HAVING DIFFERENT COMPOSITION DEPENDING THE NEED FOR PROGRAM IN THE SCAPE ROOM.

THE LANDSCAPE OF THE VINEYARD IS SOMEHOW FAR AWAY FROM THE CITY, BUT TRADITIONALLY THE VINEYARDS HAVE COLONIZED THE PERIPHERY OF PORTO THROUGH THE DOURO VALLEY DRAWING A VERY PICTURESQUE LANDSCAPE THAT HAS BEEN LOST AS WE GET CLOSE TO THE CITY.

THE OPPORTUNITY OF BRING THIS TYPE OF TERRACES TO SAVE THE UNEVENNESS OF THE CITY TO CREATE A NEW IMAGE OF THE RIVERBANK AS IT PASSES THROUGH PORTO WILL BE THE MAIN GOAL OF THE PROPOSAL.

CONNECT THE RIVER WITH THE MOUNTAIN THROUGH NATURE AND TRADITION IN COMBINATION WITH INNOVATION. AN INCLINED PARK THAT ALLOWS PEDESTRIANS TO ARRIVE FROM THE RIVER TO THE UPTOWN OF CITY OF OPORTO THROUGH VEGETABLE ITINERARIES.

Teniendo en cuenta las altas temperaturasdel municipio seplanteaclimatizarúnicamente la zonade ocupación delestadio, generandouna delaire,demaneraque se alcan ce la temperatura de confortentodoel ámbito delgraderíoaprovechando la inerciadel aire frío que tiende a bajary generar una extracciónde aire calienteen los puntosmás altos de la cubierta.

POZOCANADIENSE

Se proponeutilizarunsistemadegeotermiahorizontal poraire,queconsisteenunaseriedetubos,colocados a unaciertaprofundidad,querecorrenunadeterminada cantidad de metros pordebajode la tierra,porlosque circulaaire,permitiendoqueocurraunintercambio de calor, entreel airequecircula y la tierraquelo rodea. Teniendoen cuentaquela temperatura a una cierta profundidad permanece constante a unos17ºC,conseguiremoscon esto introduciraire en veranoa una temperaturainferiorqueel aireexterior e introduciren inviernoairea unatemperaturasuperior al aireexterior. Se tienen en cuenta la dirección de los vientos dominantes para la impulsión del aire que recorrerá dichos conductos y así reducir al mínimo la potencia del sistema de ventilación mecánica.
