Krzczonowski Krzczonowski Landscape Park is an area situated 50 kilometers east of my hometown Lublin, Poland. It is said that it represents most and the best of whole region's landscape. Ravines and forests hold dark history secrets while villages and fields are subject of a vast change due to an introduction of modern European Union's standards in agriculture. It strongly affects people lives. It also brings huge changes to the landscape itself. A long term project.

Lublin-Donostia-Lublin. Photographs taken during a four-day road trip from Lublin, Poland to Donostia/San Sebastian, Pais Vasco and return. The goal was to collect things that I've left in Donostia after my one-year stay there. Pictures focus mainly on the road itself. The distance was 5000 kilometers. Car used: Mitsubishi Galant Combi, 2.0 aka The Green Shark. Countries crossed: Poland, Germany, France, Spain.

Somorrostro Valley, Bilbao, Pais Vasco, Spain In the 70s of last century, the Bilbao region was second only to Tokyo's most polluted place in the world. This status was a sad culmination of a long mining tradition and fame of iron hidden under mountains around. Iron ore was mined here for centuries but the real explosion of process was the end of the nineteenth century when advanced machines were introduced. To handle them, thousands of hands were needed so the valley began to descend mass workers from neighboring provinces, mainly from Galicia and Castile. Their number reached twenty thousand. Miners and their families lived mainly in squalid and hastily built barracks. Mines started to close down in the second half of the eighties of the twentieth century. Mining companies have discovered the deposit and cheap labor in the various countries of Africa, outsourced production and sold exploited land to smaller companies.
