The Community Powered Health Transportation Project, was a collaboration project done with Marcelo KertĂŠsz. The task was to re-think, and redesign the way health transportation works in some developing countries. The project was developed into a transportation system. Where community could use the abundant resources available, such as motorcycles and bikes, to transport people to the nearest hospital to get medical attention. The system works similar to what an Uber or Lyft service does today. The drivers would sign up using the mobile app, website, or cellphone, and the people from the community would sign up using the same method. The hardware part of the system include the ambulance pods, which can attach to any motorcycle or bicycle. The pods are distributed through collection points in the community such as, gas stations, or medical centers. The software is the main interface, where a patient could request a ride, and the driver can accept it. This software is multi modal, and it can work by using cellphones, smartphones, or the computer. The service connects everything together, based on an intelligent dispatch system. It connects the software, hardware, pilots, doctors, training and maintenance. It controls the flow of every moving part through every touchpoint.

FURNITURE & INTERIOR DESIGN 8
Office design in Mexico City, this project was born out of a collaboration with Mexican architect Alejandro MuĂąoz de Cote. The task was to redesign an office space for a Mexican company. The office was designed closely with what the client needed and wanted. Alejandro and Juan worked closely with the companies Owner and CEO to design the office to their specific needs. The owner wanted to have the office divided into two parts: The directors side, where the CEO, CFO, and financial advisors would be. As well as having the other half of the office floor dedicated to all the staff who work for the company. The CEO wanted to have custom designed furniture, Juan worked closely with him to develop the desks and meeting room tables. The interior design of the whole office was done in collaboration with the architect. The design instructions where clear: the office was to be simple, modern, and elegant. The floorplans where all pre approved as well as the designs, before the production was started. The custom desks where done by a furniture manufacturer in Mexico City, and the furniture for the staff was chosen and bought through Von Hauke, a furniture brand with showrooms in Mexico City.

The Sunglass Case was designed with the concept of making the case simple and elegant. The brand chosen to do the case for was a danish brand called Han Kjobenhavn. The brand has clean and modern design throughout their clothing and eyewear. The design for the case was meant to follow that same concept. The case was designed to be easy to take anywhere and to protect the frames.

Chai Machine design was a project done with the task of recreating the way a Chai Latte is made traditionally, but making it convenient. The restrictions where simple, the design could not have pods like a Nespresso or a Keurig machine, it needed to be a natural process. The machine needed to complete the process of brewing the chai tea, mixing it with the milk, and dispensing it. The final design was a machine that divided the brewing process in three steps: The water would boil on the first chamber, then the water would get pushed onto a chamber where the loose tea was waiting to be brewed. The tea would brew with the water for 3 minutes, and then the tea would mix with the milk. The contents would be dispensed in a cup after the process is done. The whole machine is automated so with a push of a button the brewing starts.

Polk Concert speakers was a project done for Sound United. The task was to use one of their three brands (Polk, Boom, Definitive), and design a speaker that would fit with the brand. This design was done specificaly for Polk, which started as a speaker company that claimed to bring the concert quality back to your home. The concept behind the speaker was to mimic the look, feel, experience, and sound of going to a concert nowadays. The wireless speaker would be able to connect through wi fi or bluetooth, and play any concert or music festival’s live set directly through the speaker. The design included the conceptualization of an app to connect the concerts to the speaker, and the development of the actual product itself. The concert speakers will bring back the concert to your home.

This project was developed in collaboration with Marcelo KertĂŠsz, Josep-Maria Serra, & Jacinto Berrios. The objective of this project was to: Conceive a complete end to end tailored product experience to service, support and guide pregnant millennials during the different phases of pregnancy and/or post pregnancy. The team developed OnTrack Pregnancy Monitoring System which is a system that connects you to your doctor and gives you valuable and reassuring information throughout your pregnancy. The hardware part of the System included: a smart wireless speaker, that works as a baby monitor, a smart scale, and a smart sensoring waistband. The Software is connected to every single hardware part as well as to the cloud, where the app and the doctor software track every single thing that is happening during the pregnancy.
