In 2009, State Senator Lou Correa secured $35 million a year in property tax revenue for Orange County. And it will grow to $50 million next year. How'd he do it? According to the Orange County Register, "Correa a moderate Democrat ... is often times a swing vote. Neither side [Democrats or Republicans] can be sure what he's going to do. As a result, he's got some juice come crunch time." And it's being used for critical public safety programs including the Sheriff's Department, District Attorney and Probation Department.
"The people of Orange County pay their fair share of taxes and they should get a fair share of it back. Creating and maintaining jobs in Orange County is one of my top priorities."
- Senator Lou Correa
