CHAPTER3 Arrangements
from Studio04: Water
by jufang1998
Let the new circulation space intersect with the water and the original path. This has more spatial possibilities than in a straight line.

Mangroves are usually about 5 meters. I hope people can observe him from different angles rather than looking up. Therefore, a curved circulation up and down is designed.
It is better to use a rectangular frame than to use columns to support the bridge above. Exposing the slender frame to the outside gives people a clearer sense of direction.

It is better to use a rectangular frame than to use columns to support the bridge above. Exposing the slender frame to the outside gives people a clearer sense of direction.
Different from the concrete arch. The sidewalk at the top, including columns, will be steel structure. This can reduce the weight of the structure itself, and the structure will look relatively light.
Because part of the structure of the project extends to the water, the corrosion of water to steel structure must be considered. So the column structure will be divided into two parts. The underwater part will be mainly concrete. This will not affect the appearance of this structure.
In addition to maintaining a sense of visual slimness and giving people a sense of direction, a rectangular frame is a good visual frame. Facing the sea, there is artificial fog on the water.
The experience space of the first part is not enough. I still hope that the whole project can have an interactive part with the terrain. So I expanded the curved walkway. The walkways in the two red areas follow the original natural terrain (the height is three meters and the length is more than 40 meters, which is suitable for people to walk). The middle curving part of the path is a flat platform, which is the highest point of the terrain.
The curve forms different pockets. It allows people having more experiencing tim in the cetain distance, comparing with the staight line. They are created by circles from small to large. The reason is I want to create an atmosphere change from narrow to broad. Every turn, people's visual experience and what they can see will gradually become more and more
Different forms of mangroves are grown around the whole project. One grows in or near water. The other is in the land. Artificial trees will hide in these mangroves along the coastline. With the help of the south wind in summer, artificial fog can cool the site. With the help of the north wind in winter, the artificial fog will be blown to the sea to bring a visual experience. The floating farm will be at the end of the aisle. On the path, people’s sight will gradually be blocked by mangroves and they can’t see the floating farm.
Different kinds of mangroves can be observed on both sides of the promenade. One grows in the water or near the shore, and the other grows in the soil with special roots. All experimental pods will be distributed on both sides of the streamline, so people will see mangroves of different species and growth periods.
Under each part of the facility extending towards the water surface, the oyster reef is fixed with a net structure and cleaned regularly. Light-transmitting curtains allow people to adjust their own viewing angle of mangroves.
