STOMP STOOL The Stomp Stool is a step stool designed to be functional and beautiful. It becomes a piece of furniture you want to keep on display rather than tucked away in storage. It is straight forward when it comes to strength and durability, and classic in form and function. Its modern take on functional design becomes the narrative throughout each individual part. The metal brackets become a focal point in contrast with the wooden members.

Inspired by Scandinavian and Mid Century furniture, the Stomp Stool embodies a clean and minimal aesthetic while maintaining functional use. Neutral woods and a pop of color, oversized design components, and subtle contours are unique characteristics of this style of furniture, which are explored in the design of the Stomp Stool.

From lumbar yard to final product, the Stomp Stool becomes a one of kind, quality crafted piece of furniture. Each member was custom made and finished to meet the goals of the design. Fabrication process included: Woodworking, Wood and Plasma CNC, Metal Finishing, Wood Finishing

THE CHILL CHAIR Considered to be the pièce de résistance of furniture design, a chair encompasses multiple levels of design, fabrication processes and techniques to accomplish a beautiful, functional, and comfortable chair. Designed to be a modern lounge chair, the Chill Chair explores a technique, called living hinge, that utilizes a CNC to cut slots in the wood, thus allowing it to become moldable to a rigid frame as well as flexible when in use. In doing so, a singular piece of plywood was used as the seat, which uses less material and allows for variety in shape and pattern.

During the iterative design process, the chair went through trials to discover the most comfortable ergonomics for the user.

Fabrication process included: Woodworking, Wood CNC, Metal Bending, Welding, Wood Finishing, Metal Finishing, Paracord Weaving, Upholstery

Paracord is used as the binder between the seat and the frame, which expresses the unique form and character of the chair. Additionally, a lumbar pillow is created to allow for further comfort as well as a point of interest to the design.
