The Café ADC 109 Prof. Paula Behrens Spring 2012
I was being asked to design a small
intervention (cafeteria) into an unused place at the college – the roof of the Mint accessible from the second floor West Building Corridor. The activity to be “housed” on the roof is a Terrace containing a Coffee Kiosk and places to sit and/or stand.
When I started my design for this project I
thought about creating a sense of relaxation or contemplation – respite and calm, for the people that are going to use it. At the same time, I also considered the qualities of places that were exciting or inspirational, with strong energy qualities. That’s how I came up with the idea of Fire and Ice. This was my main theme for this project. A Café that will give at the students of this college the boost that they need.

Designer’s Studio
(Saul Bass) ADC 159 Studio II Prof. Michael Stern Fall 2012
I was commissioned to create a rooftop studio addition to an architecturally distinctive rowhouse on Delancey Place in Center City Philadelphia. The existing building is 24 feet wide and approximately 50 feet deep. My addition may take the entire roof area or allow room for outdoor space. In this project I explored the making of space, enclosure, roof form and the relationship between the building and the sky. My client was Saul Bass. After doing some thorough researches about his life I came up with this design idea. Including ShowBoard Walls in this space were fundamental for my client because of his work. Since he worked with films too, creating a dark room in a more private part of his studio was really helpful. After studding the location of the actual building, I decided how the windows were going to be, to get the most out of natural sunlight every season. Skylights were a key feature in my ceiling design.

Center for the Applied Arts ACD 159 Studio II Prof. Michael Stern Fall 2012 This project was developing a design that concerns exterior and interior within a demanding urban context. Developing solutions to vertical circulation and response to climate, in this case the building exposure to sunlight on the west, was a main thing for this project. It also needed to be transformed, at least in part, into a space that can be used for small conferences as a forum to discuss cross-cultural issues, especially those between Asia and the West and the role of design as cultural bridge.
After studding the site, sunlight and other urban features I decided to use glass on the main faรงade of the building. It was the unclosed massive AT&T building that made me go for less material and more glass. Using shading panels to control the sunlight makes it really convenient and efficient, especially to protect the artworks that are going to be exposed in the gallery form direct sunlight. Having central stairs, fire stairs and an elevator made the vertical circulation very easy. Deciding to have two entrances made the gift shop functional even when the gallery was closed.

Chair Studio I Professor: Paula Behrens Spring 2012
I had to create a full-scale chair from four 32x40 sheets of corrugated cardboard, strong enough to support a seated adult. No glue or other secondary materials were permitted.
I started this project by studying the cardboard to discover its qualities,
what were its strengths and weaknesses, by building study models to test concepts. I designed and built up my chair keeping in mind comfort and support without forgetting of strength, usefulness and beauty. The side and back design is supposed to represent human bones and spine.

Island House Project ADC 160 Presentation Techniques Profs. A.Bracali & M.Tweed Spring 2013
In this project I had to redraw plans and section of The Island House and made a physical model of both Guest House and Main House. I stared from hand drawing plan and section and then going over on Illustrator. At the same time studding plan and section I built up both models.
