The fluctuating temperatures at the start of the new year gave Astorians some leeway to play with colors, shapes and accessories. Textures and volume are king for our locals’ outerwear. Plus, warm palettes seem to be gaining some relevance among black-and-white pieces and the ever-trendy neon accents.

Astoria resident Taylor Burkhardt (@taylorhardt) brings home this effortless look. She aptly described her style as “comfy, classic and based on the ‘90s.” Nice sleeves! Astoria resident Jennifer Burich (@jennlp77) knows how to wear a hat. She personalized her vintage style with an earthy color palette. Great confidence meets a great hat.

Brooklyn resident Lindsey (@lani_lang) wisely accessorized her oversize look with a great mix between practical and personal accessories.

Astoria resident Amal Bouam (@amalbijoux) wisely described her style as “Europe meets America.” Comfortable and trendy, this look will certainly take you far. Amal had a very interesting way to pair color blocks and accessories. I love that phone wallet — very cute indeed.

Brooklyn resident Kyle Reyes (@chez.reyes) combined his favorite pieces with an easy urban flare. He said that his Stussy puffer, Goodfight pants and Slam Jam blazer are among his go-to garments. Extra points for that crafty ring and the cool attitude.

Manhattan resident Nina defined her style as a “mix between casual and trendy.” She loves her Ugg coat that keeps her warm through the cold Astoria days.
