A Ring of Eternity, Infinity, Promise and Celebration When a special date is coming up on the calendar such as a wedding anniversary this is a great time to visit the jewellers and select a sterling silver zirconia eternity ring. Eternity rings have for many years symbolized the union of two people and their marriage celebrating and receiving an eternity ring is very special.

What is an Eternity Ring? It is a ring made of metal and has a continuous line of diamonds or gemstones that are a sign of continual neverending love. These beautiful rings can be sterling silver and the stones can be Zirconia. These rings have quite a reputation and are treasured by many. It was recently discovered that eternity rings or infinity rings have multiple names and meanings for different ages for example people over the age of 40 refer to the ring as an eternity ring. Youngsters between the ages of 16 and 24 and not married or even in a relationship call the ring a promise ring and there are others that know it as a celebration ring.

What is Zirconia? This is a manmade gemstone it is often likened to a diamond, but it is not a diamond or anything like a diamond except that it can resemble a diamond. Zirconia is used in the manufacturing of jewellery. Although over time the Zirconia can become scratched and cloudy it is a durable material to use to make long-lasting rings and pendants.

What is Sterling Silver? Sterling silver is a more affordable version of silver it is made up of 92.5% silver and the remainder is copper. Occasionally sterling silver will discolour and there will be a green tinge which is from the presence of copper in the formulation of the jewellery. Jewellery made from sterling silver is very popular because it is versatile and cheaper than gold or silver. This metal is durable, and it has a long lifespan when worn regularly it remains shiny and there is no need to polish it. It is possible to shower whilst wearing sterling silver jewellery however there is a chance that it could tarnish so it is not recommended. If your jewellery does start to tarnish it is best to use a mix of white vinegar, water, and baking soda. If stronger chemicals are used on the rings, it could damage the sterling silver.
