Exercise 01 – Individual exercise Part A will be submitted by March 11th; parts B&C, by March 18th. Please stick to the standards given in the guidelines, and specifically to the first one: “All exercises will be submitted in DIN A3 format. Official ETSEM paper, or any other, will be admitted. Both sides of the DIN A3 shall be used; many practices can be solved on a single sheet. All sheets shall include a duly completed official slipcase. If official ETSEM paper is not used, the case included in these guidelines shall be included -cut and pasted, printed or reproduced by any means.” The drawing shows the plan of a small flat in Madrid. There are exactly 3,00 m. between the lower and upper slabs. The façade is finished with a single wythe of ceramic brick and a stone cladding. Each student shall work on the partitions of one marked area, including two solutions: 1.- Masonry partitions 2.- Steel stud+plasterboard partitions. Students will submit the following construction details. A.- A sketch of a horizontal section of an area -the one marked by the professorsusing the steel stud+plasterboard partitions, and considering 2600x1200mm panels. B.- An elevation of the steel stud, identifying reinforcements, if any, and including the planning of the plasterboard panels. C.- A sketch of the same horizontal section (see A) using a masonry partition. Missing data, if any, should be supposed by the student. Details should include all necessary information to build the façade: dimensions, components, materials, etc.
