Home Vacation

VA C A T I O N H O M E Site Analysis This project is a family vacation home in Espirito Santo, Brazil. The challenge was to find the perfect spot for the house in a very sloped site and avoiding to modify the land as least as possible. It was designed using Revit and it was submitted for building permit application. The land is in a very touristic area in the countryside, two hours drive from the capital, Vitoria. The Rodrigo Motta Bungenstab mountain climate is very cool in the winter and modest in the summer. For this reason, there are many David Bungenstab cottages and people who retire to the area.

This particular site is inside the Pedra Azul State Park, which conserves the Atlantic forest. The property is 30.000 square meters. The forest area is restricted for development, leaving about 4.000 sqm for use. The “Blue Rock” (Pedra Azul), the local touristic point is located to the East and the main idea was that the bedrooms and covered outdoor area have incredible views to the rock.

The shape of the house is non-linear - the aim is to follow the natural topography, in order to avoid modifying too much the ground.
