about Currently in my last semester at the Pennsylvania State University, I am excited that I have spent the last five years focused on understanding the profession of landscape architecture, mastering the sociological imagination, and developing my full leadership potential. Throughout these years I have found that my passion lies between a stewardship for the land and an enthusiasm for community engagement. As the world transitions into a predominantly urban state, the role of landscape architects is of vital importance. I am excited to begin my career in a field that combines both sciences and arts, and am particularly interested in utilizing my skills to create healthier communities while simultaneously bettering the environment.

spring creek canyon
suitability analysis
Introduction: The Spring Creek watershed is home to the Spring Creek Canyon, arguably the most beautiful lands in Pennsylvania. Yet, this area is a fragile ecosystem threatened by fragmentation. Solution: Identifying the opportunity for life-long education informed the final master plan to provide accessible open space for education, recreation, and to also enhance the ecology through preserving existing conditions, conserving resources, and restoring natural ecosystems. Process: This was a two-part project that consisted of an intial suitability anaylsis, conceptual plan, programatic development, a final master plan, management strategies, and phasing plan. kishacoquillas community design
master plan Introduction: Kishacoquilas Creek is a 24 mile long tributary of the Juniata River, located in Mifflin County, PA. Home to Lewistown, PA, this area is characterized by sporadic development and the need for economic improvements. Solution: Guided by balancing our pro-forma, we developed a community master plan for a mixeduse, mixed-income neighborhood with recreational connections to the local greenway. Process: [Group Project] Research informed our site, demographic, and market analyses. Followed by an iterative design process, we ultimately produced diagrams, character renderings, and a community master plan. Software: Microsoft Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator

meĂ&#x;dorfer feld
master plan
Introduction: Located in Bonn, Germany, the MeĂ&#x;dorfer feld is the site of citizen and political tension. This vast area of land is valued by its surrounding neighborhood communities, but is facing the pressure of development. Solution: Influenced by German philosophers, we created a master plan of various programs, including prescribed agriculture, semi-permanent circulation, and most importantly, open transformative spaces. Process: [Group Project] Site visits guided our intial analysis, including the identification of users, site entry points, opportunities and constraints. This process led to our conclusion that providing space for open programming is exactly what the local German community desires. Software: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

grass swaths are both flexible and permanent, in that they have the ability to be altered with the exception of certain established paths for vehicles
transformative zones are able to be converted by altering, reshaping, reorganizing, and through the reassignment of new programing prescribed areas of prescribed programming are designated with specific uses on a consistent time scale
Founded by Rudolf Steiner, biodynamic farming is an all encompassing spiritual, ethical, ecological approach to agriculture, food production, and nutrition. Light is reflected in regular rhythms by the sun, moon, and stars, which influences the successful timing of sowing, cultivating, and harvesting. Biodynamic farming follows the lunar calendar because as the moon passes the twelve constellations of the zodiac, the cosmic rhythms strengthen either the roots, leaves, blossoms, or fruits of which are planted at that time according to their designated zodiac.
sunbury third ward Introduction: The city of Sunbury, PA is located on the east bank of the Susquehanna River. SEDA-COG, a governmental public development organization, challenged us to redevelop the “bloody-third neighborhood. This entailed the improvement of stormwater management, creating a gateway entrance, and infill housing. Solution: This gateway design was created as my individual portion of the assignment in order to distinctly mark the entrance to city, while intriguing both visitors and residents. Process: [Group Project] After reviewing precedent projects and several hand drawn iterations, I fully developed a wildflower meadow that is peppered with solar powered globe lights. Software: Photoshop

state college waste management learning center Introduction: The town of State College is continually growing, changing, and increasing in development. However, at the largest local shopping center, one site has been left vacant for almost 10 years. Typical of an American shopping center, this plaza is characterized by an excessive amount of parking space, generating a large amount of stormwater runoff and also the opportunity to reassign traditional waste management practices.
state college waste management learning center Solution: In order to connect the vacant land with the township’s nearby composting facility, I developed a learning center program to encourage sustainable recycling practices and technologies. As a two-part project, the initial master plan focused on reorganizing the parking strategy while collecting and filtering stormwater runoff. During the second portion of the project, a site plan for the vacant lot was designed to educate visitors of composting techniques and greywater usage.
