I still remember it so vividly. Standing in the ballroom, watching my daughter’s first dance with her husband, and trying my best to concentrate on the celebration at hand, when in actuality all I could think about was the pain the heels I was wearing were inducing on my feet. A bunion sufferer since I was eighteen, I’d known this pain for decades, yet still found it as aggravating as ever that there were not attractive shoes on the market for the millions of women like me who struggle with foot issues. I spent a good part of my life as a nurse, including many years working in orthopedic surgery, and yet even though I knew all the biological ins and outs of my feet, I still couldn’t find beautiful shoes that didn’t leave me in agony after an hour or two of wear. During my time as a nurse, I worked with numerous individuals plagued with troubled feet, and observed many different measures taken to address problem areas. Oftentimes, special orthotic shoes and inserts were used to support the feet and prevent overcrowding of the bones. I took note and always wondered why subtle changes couldn’t be applied to all
types of shoes, not just orthotics, in order to provide women with additional comfort and pain relief. Two and a half years ago, I started looking for answers, seeking assistance and investigating concepts which eventually led to the inception of my own line, Julie Lopez. In late 2012, we introduced our brand via a soft launch of four different styles, all made in Italy. While I knew that we were on to something simply by how wonderful the heels felt on my own feet, the response from our customers cemented my beliefs. Women writing to me and saying this is the first pair of heels they’ve worn in over ten years, or the first pair they’ve ever worn and weren’t counting down the minutes until they could take them off validated the countless amount of time that goes into each and every one of our shoes.
With this Spring/Summer 2014 collection, we’re bringing everything we’ve learned from our soft launch and expanding our line with show-stopping sandals, classic pumps, flirty wedges, and charming flats- all incoporating our patent-pending F·I·T (Flex Innovation Technology), which we’ve described in detail on the final pages of this catalog. The collection draws inspiration from the seasons themselves- patent leathers saturated in dewey, warm hues evoking a late August sunset. Ruby and Emerald tones as enchanting as spring’s best blooms, and sultry metallics that have us dreaming of hot summer nights spent with the people we love most.

All about our F·I·T Flex Innovation Technology
A combination of side vents and elastanebacked leather enable the foot to breathe and the vamp to stretch in problem areas. In all of the 3” and 4” heel designs, Texon padding is added in the forefoot region to maximize comfort and ensure shock absorption capabilities.

Shoe construction provides a slightly wider toe box that allows the foot to remain in a more natural position which minimizes stress and thereby decreases pain.
Width Increased room in the toe box compared to traditional shoe construction
Special attention is given to the vamp of the shoe to help eliminate pressure and seaming over potential problem areas. Premium Italian leathers are hand-selected for all components of the footwear to provide the best combination of flexibility and support. Non-slip pads are positioned on the sole of the shoe which allows for better traction on slippery surfaces.
