Framework.
This housing project, which includes 12 dwellings and a public facility, is located on the Buzenval Street, near the Nation Square, in Paris 20th district. A special attention to the context and to urban regulations was asked.
The building volumetry is due to the design principles set for this project : outside staircase and crossing loggias. These principles avoid the basic volumetry, which is defined by the urban regulations.
In this project, there are various dwelling typologies. The building includes 12 dwellings, with 5 different typologies, and somes are duplex. In the basement, there is a projection room, to complete the district's cultural offers.
A structural 50.00 cm long framework designs the street facade with either windows, entrance doors or avoided parts. In this way, the facade fits better in an urban context, a typical parisian faubourg area.

Staircase and distribution networks are located outside : this design allows bringing sunlight in the whole building and a natural ventilation to the common parts. The exterior staircase offers different views to the area.

Structure. The building structure is made with CLT wood panel, with a concrete structure basement. In France, this constructional principle is currently more expensive than concrete construction. However, the building construction is faster, and material transportation to the site is optimized. Thus, CLT construction allows better energy performance, because of the wood properties and the faster construction period. On the long term, this constructional principle could allows energy and financial economies for housings construction.

Implanting.
Frame.
Volumetry.
The project is located in a dense and central area of Montpellier, on a crossing plot. It includes 17 dwellings, an office space and a car park.
This project required a particular attention to the context. On the streetsides, the building is set in alignment with the adjacent buildings and amount to the second floor. In the plot's heart, the project's height is low in order to preserve the intimacy with the neighborhood.
The project organisation is laid out in a frame dividing the plot in three parts. This result in three 6 meters large stripes. Dwellings and distributions are allocated on these stripes. This spatial organisation allows having a maximum of crossing dwellings and permits to have more intimacy.
The volumetry follows the frame and is very simple and geometric. The building shape is designed by alterning constructed parts and voids. By shifting the stripes, light and intimacy are improved, and it offers to the plot's heart dwellings larger exterior space.

TECHNILUM FACTORY EXTENSION

Program.
The void.
This project is about the extension of the Technilum factory, specialized in urban furnitures design. The program includes a research center composed of offices and model workshop, a warehouse and a gallery. The idea was to separate each part of the program in different volumes. These volumes fit together and interconnect with each other. The car park and the warehouse are situated along the plot boundary, near the accessway. Offices and meeting room laid out near the main entrance to the existing building (an old winery), and lead to the company offices. The gallery is connected with the existing cultural space.
The factory area is already endowed with a very nice landscape with an heritage character. Then, the aim was to magnify it and to not disrupt it. The main idea of this project was to design some negative spaces, which would not develop above but below the ground. Thus, the building is hidden, and is perceptible only with the voids, the non-built spaces. This design strategy is inspired by Land Art, and particulary Michael Heizer works.
Architecture in negative.
Materiality.
The different spaces left between the volumes create a set of negative spaces. As all the roofs of the volumes are entirely covered with green vegetation, these courtyards become the visible parts of the project. They allow the daylighting of the different spaces in the new building and also provides the entranceways.
The building materials design also follows the concept of an architecture in negative. Roofs are covered with green vegetation in order to integrate the building to the site. The building structure is in concrete, and the facades are covered with a Vals stone siding, which is also on the ground, to show the physical continuity with the facades. This illustrate the idea of an avoided earth. This design gives to the building two different readings : in the landscape, the project is furtive, and get more bulkiness when we get within it.

SINGLE HOUSE
AVENUE GRASSION CIBRAND, 34280 CARNON Semester 3 - ENSA-Montpellier Studio Rousseau / Wafflart
Program. This project consists in a single house located on a 400 m2 plot onto the beach, in Carnon. The house includes a living room, a reading room, a kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Spiral. The main idea was to create a spiral which would wind up from shared areas to personal spaces. This spiral winds around a courtyard and goes upstairs, to the bedrooms. This spiral also creates various sequences between interior and exterior, and provides a continuity between these spaces.
Plans. This spiral organisation allows hiding the entrance from the street. It offers a glimpse of the beach at the far end which attracts us to the kitchen. Shared spaces (kitchen, living room) are open to the beach. Personal spaces (bedrooms) are concentrated around the courtyards.

'BORNEO'S LIKE' SINGLE HOUSE UNLOCATED Semester 8 - ENSA-Paris Belleville Studio Chombart de Lauwe
Program.
Central core.
This two weeks long project consists in the design of a single house, on an unlocated plot, with some regulatory constraints. The plot size is 5.00 x 20.00 m, the street is on the south side. The built volume can not be higher than 9.00 m, und must be 6.00 m back from the end of the plot. The program includes a living room, a kitchen with natural light, bathrooms with natural light and ventilation, and three bedrooms. Everything must fit to the accessibility standards.
The different spaces are organized around the staircase, which is the central core of the house. On the ground floor, staircase and WC become the central block. in this way, the living room and the kitchen are delimited, but are still the same space. A double-height living room allows a visual link with the study room, on the first floor. On the streetside, the facade creates a double skin. This provides some intimacy, and creates solar protections.

NEXT HELSINKI COMPETITION SOUTH HARBOR, HELSINKI Semester 7 - ENSA-Paris Belleville Studio Pangalos / Colboc
About. The Next Helsinki competition is launched as an alternative to the Guggenheim Helsinki project. How could we imagine a futur evolution for Helsinki, rather than building a single architectural piece?
Megastructure. The proposal is based on a long term strategy, which will help reclaim the access to the south harbor of the city. The intervention takes the shape of an evolutive structure following the coastline for 3 km. This structure would reunite the different fragments of the city and the harbor alltogether.
Flexibility. Over time, the project will welcome private or public initiatives and therefore be a backbone to the future development of Helsinki, by its administration and its citizen. It would host various programs, leisure, residential, office, culture, to fit to the needs of the city.
Framework. Bay dimensions are 12.00 x 12.00 m, and are 18.00 m high. This simple frame can be subdivided, to fit to the different kinds of program.
Modularity. The different activities would insert in the structure as plugs. By this way, programs can be temporary, or permanent. The goal is to questionned Helsinki futur growth ; does the city need to extend its limits? Can regeneration be more effective than expansion?
