Some say, “a picture is worth a thousand words. I contend a piece of visual communication is worth more than that; it can cause you to take any number of actions. More and more, visual communication calls for designers to combine skills in Photography, Web Design, and Graphic Design. Since visual communication is no longer a static medium, clients demand seamless integration between Print and Web . As a designer, I can accommodate those needs by utilizing my skills in these areas:

PRINT MEDIA

WEB AND INTERACTIVE MEDIA

PHOTOGRAPHY

Package Design Poster Design Advertising Promotions Screen Printing Letterpress Corporate Identity Publication Design

HTML XML JavaScript CSS JQuery Flash ActionScript 3.0

Portraiture Environmental Studio Packaging Fashion

My understanding of how color reacts with paper, and how people react to printed materials enables me to design any print material you may need. From posters to T-shirts, I can produce high-end, user-centered design.

IDENTITY

With this project, I was challenged with taking an existing identity system and improving upon it. With Aflac, I researched the company and developed an updated look.

BOOK DESIGN

This book was used as a teaching tool. It is historically driven and fact based. For this project I wrote all the text, designed all the graphics and bound the book by hand.. The graphics pages are printed on linen paper, and the text pages are printed as negatives on transparent film. This allowed the reader to see the background image through the words, and bring imagery and text together.

SCREEN PRINTING

Live Like Saints is a clothing line that I developed and branded, and for which I currently do the marketing and design. I create all artwork associated with the brand and manage marketing copy related to selling the brand. The clothing line, is marketed to both men and women between the ages of 16 and 35. The logo was designed to combine the brand name with imagery associated with the brand.

My knowledge of the Web includes HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, ActionScript 3.0, Flash, JQuery, and PHP. I can develop sites ranging from product promotions to intercative galleries and slide shows. I can design web banners used as marketing material that are both eye-catching and interactive.

FLASH BANNERS

These banners serve as web promotions for various products. I produced them in Flash CS4 and they are fully interactive. Each animation lasts about 10 seconds.

What inspires me about photography is the chance to capture a solitary moment in time. The opportunity to focus on a moment and illuminate it. In my shots I want my subject to tell a story, relay an expression or mood, and connect visually with the viewer. I have the ability to staged lighting or use natural lighting to produce whatever effect the subject needs. I can shoot portraiture, environmental, studio, product displays and unscripted moments.
