CTP OF MATA DE LIMÓN
The project is located in Mata de Limón, near the port of Caldera in Puntarenas, and consists of a Professional Technical School for a lower-class fishing community, in order to generate prosperity and talent in the community’s youth.
The proposal presents the main challenge of generating educational architecture in a land facing the sea; Therefore, its design must take into account the characteristics of the site such as high temperatures, sea breezes and salinity, maintaining human comfort and the link with various natural factors.

Location
The land is located in front of Route 23 in front of the Old Caldera Railway Station, and its position allows it to generate a design that takes advantage of the direction of the sun and sea breezes to generate greater shading and cross ventilation.
Mata de Limón, Puntarenas
The spatial distribution consists of 3 buildings unified by a single circulation route surrounded by green areas.
The central block is the one that receives the project with a central backyard that distributes the circulation to the other blocks, in which there is a single nucleus of bathrooms, the computer room, the multipurpose room, warehouse, teachers’ room and administrative offices.
The classroom blocks and the social block made up of the gym, the dining room and the stage are located at the ends of the project in order to separate the areas with the greatest noise by positioning the central block and the green areas with sound neutralizer.

Designing educational spaces in small land in front of the coast implies generating openings for indirect lighting and ventilation through horizontal parasols such as overhangs in windows that are at the height of the students in a sitting position and in the corridors, accompanied by vegetation to purify the air, monitors that allow the exit of hot air and a concrete materiality that helps keep the interiors cool and does not deteriorate due to environmental factors in the area.

CENTENNIAL PARK
The Goicoechea Centennial Park is a sports project that is currently in a state of deterioration, which leads to its use for criminal activities; therefore, the project proposes a sports complex that meets safety standards, and that will generate an impact on the social and sports culture of the canton.

Currently, the park has a semi-Olympic pool, a basketball court, a sand court, an athletics circuit, a skate park, a music school and the offices of the cantonal sports committee, all of which are in a state of disrepair. Its pedestrian areas are in poor condition with little security, making it a home for the homeless, and a dangerous area at night.
However, the municipality has recently built a plaza for handicrafts, a soccer field with an athletics track, restored the basketball court and part of the internal streets.
The proposal proposes, through the use of the slope to generate 2 terraces, the first for a large building that houses all the roofed activities and the other for outdoor activities.
The large building includes the swimming pool, the day center, the music school, the sports committee and an exhibition hall, through a metal structure with 4 waters with a downspout placed every 12m. The other terrace is used for a sand field, a football field with an athletics track, a basketball court and a tennis court, with its proper dressing rooms and bleachers.

Structurally, the roofed area is made up of 42 columns with 12m between, where each column drains 24m2 through a single central downspout surrounded by 4 structural columns that support a roof made up of 6 waters and 6 limaollas.

FACILITIES FOR THE HEALTH OF THE ADULT ELDERLY
Based on the canton of Vázquez de Coronado, how can clinical and social services be integrated from architecture to facilitate care for the elderly in Coronado in the coming years? In accordance with this question, the project seeks to design facilities in order to provide a service of both diseases, prevention and health promotion; as diagnostic, treatment and recovery doctors, to develop comprehensive care for the elderly population in this canton.

It was developed through a methodology that will consist of two stages; an investigative and a design proposal, in order to create a theoretical inquiry into various geriatric and gerontological concepts to later design an architectural draft; which will take into account concepts such as aging, health promotion, gerontology architecture, universal design and biophilic design.

At a general level, the project implemented guidelines that allow the generation of natural lighting to heat the spaces without causing splendor, this through the use of wooden parasols at the top and heavy parasols at the window level, these also filter excess ventilation, which is crossed in the spaces that require it.
Through the thickness of the walls and the use of planes and volumes, the aim is to generate a sensation of heaviness and hardness.

MD HOUSE
The room project located in Quepos, 2 km from the sea for 2 people on a 1000 m2 lot with a large green area adjoining a palm plantation.
The proposal presents a large social area with large windows that open onto a terrace with a large green area in the background; the rooms are located on the sides of the social area, each with its own bathroom and a window overlooking the entrance; in order to guarantee greater privacy.

The concept of the proposal is the privacy of its guests, through the distribution of living spaces separated by areas, thus allowing us to generate large work and rest spaces, favoring a configuration of a private bathroom for each user.

The project consists of 66m2, of these 30m2 are destined to the social area, which consists of living room, dining room and kitchen, where the latter is distributed through an island with kitchen and breakfast area, allowing cross ventilation, it also has a terrace with space for grill and an outside living room.

MATT SCHOOL
The expansion of this house in Coronado aims to create an academic space in a residential building with close adjoining areas, allowing in turn to create a classroom with multiple ways of configuring the furniture or using the space for other activities.

The proposal has as a concept of openness and lightness, this is due to the fact that health protocols require wide, open and ventilated spaces, for which reason permeable enclosures, light inlets on the ceiling and gordomex meshes on the walls were proposed, accompanied by ceilings of wood to generate greater warmth and a blackboard integrated into 2 walls.

The new building was connected to the existing one by means of transparent sheet roofs and cladding, to create laundry and storage spaces, allowing useful areas that generate a connection between the new and the old.

ARQUITECTURA & DISEÑO
Cignos is a joint project with Arq Roy Céspedes that aims to respond to spatial needs with sensitivity and elegance, work was done on interior designs for houses and competitions, rendering and design work was carried out.

The firm Casa Viva seeks to provide constructive solutions from the blueprint stage to the delivery of the property. Work was done in the area of design, 3d modeling and rendering, working together with engineers, graphic designers, and sales agents on large-scale projects.

ESTILO REAL
The firm Estilo Real led by the architect Lucía Diaz seeks to prioritize quality and the sensation of space. This in order to convert architecture into a profitable and salable product through a modern and generic design that attracts any client. I worked on design, 3D modeling and rendering.
