FACILITIES FOR THE HEALTH OF THE ADULT ELDERLY

Based on the canton of Vázquez de Coronado, how can clinical and social services be integrated from architecture to facilitate care for the elderly in Coronado in the coming years? In accordance with this question, the project seeks to design facilities in order to provide a service of both diseases, prevention and health promotion; as diagnostic, treatment and recovery doctors, to develop comprehensive care for the elderly population in this canton.

It was developed through a methodology that will consist of two stages; an investigative and a design proposal, in order to create a theoretical inquiry into various geriatric and gerontological concepts to later design an architectural draft; which will take into account concepts such as aging, health promotion, gerontology architecture, universal design and biophilic design.

At a general level, the project implemented guidelines that allow the generation of natural lighting to heat the spaces without causing splendor, this through the use of wooden parasols at the top and heavy parasols at the window level, these also filter excess ventilation, which is crossed in the spaces that require it.

Through the thickness of the walls and the use of planes and volumes, the aim is to generate a sensation of heaviness and hardness.
