MATT SCHOOL

The expansion of this house in Coronado aims to create an academic space in a residential building with close adjoining areas, allowing in turn to create a classroom with multiple ways of configuring the furniture or using the space for other activities.

The proposal has as a concept of openness and lightness, this is due to the fact that health protocols require wide, open and ventilated spaces, for which reason permeable enclosures, light inlets on the ceiling and gordomex meshes on the walls were proposed, accompanied by ceilings of wood to generate greater warmth and a blackboard integrated into 2 walls.

The new building was connected to the existing one by means of transparent sheet roofs and cladding, to create laundry and storage spaces, allowing useful areas that generate a connection between the new and the old.
