TomTom Office Office: Drum Magazine Office Location: 1391 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn, New York Neighborhood: Crown Height North

Tom Tom Magazine is a quarterly print magazine and website based out of New York City. It was founded in 2009 by Mindy Abovitz who currently serves as editor-in-chief. It is the only magazine in the world that is dedicated to female drummers. The office is designed with the concept 'Home'. The word of home to be not just a domestic space, but one that can contain all of the elements of daily life. Tom Tom Headquarters is designed with reference to an American home. As a starting point, The project researched floorplans of typical suburban American homes. I dentified the functional parts and relationships of these plans. Finally, the Split-Level hous in which the floor levels are staggered is main home type for this project.

As technology evolves, people are increasingly using smart devices, thereby this trend is taking away our free time and breaking communication. Therefore, I have designed circle chair to sit down and interact with people. The structure of the circle chair is a folding design. It is possible to change the size of the shape by enlarging or reducing it according to the number of the user, and the degree of blocking of the sunlight according to the deformation of the upper structure can also be determined. The aesthetic part is a rounded sphere design without angled parts, so it can be designed in harmony even if it is placed in any position.
