Title Design Title design is the face of the property it represents. It should be able to communicate a consistent message of the property’s story while being legible in big or small sizes, near or far away, and still be beautiful to look at. Here are some of the iconic titles that I have reimagined.
Key Art: Television Growing up, I have always loved watching documentaries. I was able to learn something new through the power of visuals. When we had to come up with an imaginary TV series for our class, it was a no brainer that it would be a documentary. The documentary series is called “Metropolis.” It explores the great metropolises around the world of its past, present, and future. As the premier season, I decided that it would be befitting that it is about Los Angeles. I have illustrated the key art to represent Los Angeles’ rich history and dynamic culture.

Advanced Typography Typography to the untrained eye is simply letters and numbers. Een though it is subtle, typeface is arguably the most important part of Graphic Design. The right typeface at the right context, with a cohesive meaning can provide incredible amount of sensibility before the viewer even gets to the other design. I have designed two typeface posters that demonstrate the characteristics of the typeface in a playful way. On the right you will find a custom typeface that I have designed called Metric Geo.
Developing Assets Blending and layering the assets in Photoshop is an art of subtlety. Assets are given to Graphic Designers with different lightings, textures, angles, and colors. It is the great task of Graphic Designers to manipulate these different assets to make our visions come to life.
Give Blood Play Hockey I was approached by Give Blood Play Hockey to design their 2017 tournament’s teaser and their payoff poster. What was intriguing and challenging was that they asked me to be the creative director, photographer, and graphic designer; giving me absolute control over how the posters could look. This project perhaps was the biggest challenge that I have tackled as a Graphic Designer. What I have learned from the process was priceless. Graphic Design isn’t just about designing but also learning to work with clients, models, and every inch of the project that we are involved with.
Key Art: Theatrical FIDM being located at the epicenter of global entertainment, our bachelor program put a great amount of emphasis on theatrical key art. Theatrical key art was especially intriguing to me as I was able to implement some of the things I have learned from my Communications bachelor degree. Theatrical marketing campaign isn’t just about one poster but rather a cohesive idea across all marketing materials. Here are some of the theatrical key art I have designed with cohesion in mind.

Key Art: Home Entertainment Rebooting old properties and shift in how home entertainment is delivered has been the latest trend in the entertainment industry. For Key Art: Home Entertainment, we were given the task to reboot an old Terrytoons property from 1959 called Hashimoto-san. I redesigned the characters to be more relevant to our times and while also designing different elements of home entertainment.
Specialty Design We as a Graphic Designer mostly live within the confines of the digital world. Therefore it is a treat when we can cut, paste, and build our designs through feel and touch. For Specialty Design, I decided to make a display table for a fragrance from the house of Hermès. The name of the fragrance “Garden on the Rooftop” evokes a romantic short escape from the hustle and bustle of the city streets. I made a display table that is a miniature version of the Hermès headquarters with a romantic rooftop garden in Paris.

Packaging Design I remember growing up; the beautiful and elaborate packaging of Apple’s iPod left me with quite an impression. Packaging is the first interaction that a consumer has with a product and the brand. As we all know, first impression is important with everything. Here is a packaging I have designed for an imaginary brand called GEO/METRIC.
Publication Design There is something magical about Publication Design where type, photography, and illustrations all work harmoniously to make a magazine look beautiful. To convey my love of Los Angeles, I made a publication called LA.CA. The publication explores everything that is cultural of this great metropolis.
Photography I have always been fascinated with photography. Photography not only captures a moment forever but it also trains us as a designer to think about composition, lighting, and all aspects of design. To me, photography is about telling a story through careful planning and intentions or sometimes it’s about simply being at the right place at the right time.
