He said, ‘‘Okay, I’ll wait for you here.’’ After ten minutes, she picked him up.

He said, ‘‘Hi, honey.’’ They kissed each other.

She said, ‘‘I can’t wait until my parents meet you.’’

They started to drive to her parents’ house. She had it on a non-Christian radio station. Then the song, ‘‘Pieces Of Me’’ came out. She said, ‘‘That song’s dedicated to you, baby.’’

He said, ‘‘Thanks, but I’m not supposed to listen to those songs.’’

She said, ‘‘Oh, okay. Well I was going to show another song.’’

He asked, ‘‘What song?’’

She said, ‘‘Why can’t I, by Liz Phair’’

He asked ‘‘Are you serious?’’ In a shocked voice.

She replied, ‘‘Yes, what’s wrong with it?’’

He said, ‘‘That song has dirty lyrics.’’

She asked, ‘‘Do you mean like badwords?’’

He said, ‘‘No. yes, but it’s more towards naughty things than badwords.’’ She asked, ‘‘For reals?’’ he nodded yes. She said, ‘‘Never realized it.’’ He asked, ‘‘Do you have it in your ipod?’’ She said, ‘‘Of course.’’

He said, ‘‘Put it.’’ She put it, she began to hear the lyrics saying, ‘‘we haven't ****** yet.''

Then she said, ‘‘Well, those lyrics were not what I expected.’’ She heard more naughty lyrics, she just turned it off.

Brock said, ‘‘Wrestling.’’ Her dad said, ‘‘Nice, nice. I played football myself.’’ Brock replied, ‘‘Awesome. What position did play?’’ Her dad said, ‘‘Fullback.’’

Brock said, ‘‘Nice.’’ Giving him a handshake like they were friends. Crystal and her mom was just staring at her dad and Brock.

Her mom said, ‘‘Men, put them together in a room. And you get nothing but pure testosterone.’’

Brock saw Crystal’s mom. He walked up to her and said, ‘‘Hi,

Mrs. Davis. I’m Brock Jude Sanchez.’’ He extended his hand, she shook his hand. She said hi.

Her mom said, ‘‘You sound like one of those women of those romcoms.’’ Laughing about it. Then Crystal realized she was showing vulnerability. Crystal change the subject and asked, ‘‘Should I Call the men already?’’

Her mom said, ‘‘Hold on in a while.’’

Brock and Crystal’s dad were talking outside. Her dad asked, ‘‘So, how long have you been dating my daughter?’’ Brock said, ‘‘A few weeks.’’ Her dad asked, ‘‘How did you two meet?’’

Brock said, ‘‘I was eating breakfast at the cafeteria, that’s where I saw her, I came to talk to her, not knowing I had her class.’’

Her dad said, ‘‘Just as long you don’t hurt her. I’m ok with you dating my daughter.’’ He nodded and said, ‘‘Fair enough.’’

Her dad asked, ‘‘Want a beer?’’

Brock said, ‘‘Nah, sir. I don’t drink.’’ Her dad was impressed, nodded, and saying, ‘‘Not bad.’’

Her dad asked, ‘‘So, what are you going for?’’ Brock said, ‘‘Bladesmith.’’

He replied, ‘‘That job’s tough, are you sure you’re up for it?’’

Brock said, ‘‘Yes I am sure.’’ Then Crystal came outside and said, ‘‘Food’s ready.’’ Brock and her dad walked towards the house. Brock walked about ten feet behind Crystal’s dad.

Crystal whispered, ‘‘Did my father tried to intimidate you?’’

Brock said, ‘‘No, he was cool with me.’’

Crystal said, ‘‘He’d try to intimidate my ex-boyfriend, that’s why I ask.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Well, he was cool with me.’’

Her dad said, ‘‘You know I could hear you guys.’’

Crystal said, ‘‘Love you dad.’’

He said, ‘‘Love you to my little girl.’’ They entered the house and sat in the dinner table.

Crystal’s dad got up and got up to get a drink for himself. Then he asked Brock, ‘‘What do you want drink?’’

Brock, and one for himself. While Crystal and her mom served the food.’’ Her mom ask, ‘‘What are studying for, Brock?’’ Brock was about to answer, Crystal beat him to the punch and said, ‘‘Bladesmith.’’ They all looked at Crystal, she replied, ‘‘What? He’s my boyfriend. So I know what he’s going for.’’ They all began to eat, while Brock prayed for his food. Crystal began to pray also. While her parents looked at each other. They finish and they started to eat.

Her mom asked, ‘‘So Brock, you’re a religious person?’’ Crystal

felt bad, because she thought that Brock felt alienated.

Brock answered, ‘‘Well, it’s more about having a relationship with GOD than being religious. We could be religious all we want, but GOD doesn’t want that. HE wants a relationship.’’

She said, ‘‘Oh, okay.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Crystal has gone to church with me, and she liked it.’’

Crystal said, ‘‘Yeah it was really good. You should go mom and dad.’’

Brock asked Crystal, ‘‘Are you going this Sunday, Crystal?’’

Crystal said, ‘‘Yes, I am.’’ She asked her parents, ‘‘Do you want to go guys?’’

Her dad asked, ‘‘What time?’’ Brock told him the time and gave them the address. Her dad said, ‘‘We’ll think about it.’’

They finish eating, they were talking, laughing, and saying jokes. After a while Brock said, ‘‘We have to go Mr. Davis.’’ Her dad said, ‘‘You could call me, Jack.’’ Brock said, ‘‘Okay, nice meeting you.’’ Brock turned to Crystal’s mom, he said, ‘‘Nice meeting you, huh……………’’ Her mom said, ‘‘Margret.’’

Brock said, ‘‘Well, nice meeting you all, bye. GOD bless.’’ Crystal kissed her parents and they left.

Later at Crystal was at her home, Crystal called her dad. As they were talking, Crystal asked, ‘‘How did you like Brock?’’

Her dad said, ‘‘He looks like a nice young man.’’ Crystal asked, ‘‘What does mom say?’’ Her dad asked her mom. He said, ‘‘She said he is a good man. You made a wise choice this time.’’ They continued talking for thirty minutes.

She hang up and she saw kids coming, ‘‘Hi mommy.’’ As they

kissed her. After a while, Brock came in, asking, ‘‘How was your day?’’ Kissing her. Then the kids and Brock disappeared. Then she smiled and fell asleep.

At Brock’s apartment, Brock was looking at pictures. Tears started to running down his cheek while he was looking at them. Brock was very happy and was in love with Crystal. No matter what, the thought of him and Natalie being married never left his mind. He wishes he would’ve done something about Brad hitting on his ex-girlfriend. It wouldn’t matter if he would’ve made a big

deal. They would’ve ended up together, and started a family.
