HOW GO-T O WOR K S? API is available to the public as a way to access certain data for applications on many different platforms such as the web or mobile phones. With the API we are making requests for specific information to provide a proof of concept for our idea. C urrently we chose 5 large suburbs for our routing tests and we are comparing traffic patterns with weather patterns as well as visibility for drivers.

GO-TO A PLATFORM TO HELP YOU KNOW WHEN TO START YOUR DAY
ABSTRACT We are working towards alleviating traffic congestion during peak commuter hours. Our team believes firmly that if we could successfully notify commuters when they should leave for their daily commuter, we can effectively reduce traffic congestion by a significant margin. Our solution requires a lot of data to be factored in, using the HERE Routing and Weather API we are collecting data during the busiest traffic times between Chicago and multiple suburbs.

CONGESTION EFFECTS DUE TO ACCIDENTS AND WEATHER
Seasonal changes has a drastic effect on traffic. In the winter months, on average there is one hour less congestion per weekday than in the summer months.
According to Texas A&M Transportation Institute, for every minute a highway lane is blocked, 4 minutes of delay result after the incident is cleared. Accounts for 4 billion hours of delay yearly Accidents in 2005 cost about 164.2 billion dollars which amounted to around 70 billion dollars worth of delays

HOPE OF THE PROJECT The hope of this mobile app is to alleviate congestion on the road networks with users being informed of real time road conditions.
· To help users get to their destination with minimal congestion from origin to destination and with the least amount of time and gasoline.
Team members Junru Xu: Junru is a fourthyear student in Architecture program. She is a transfer student from China and skillful in many graphic programs. Junru is a responsible, work hard partner in the team with honor to make the project great. She is responsible for editing graphic images and making posters and booklets visible in the team.
Nicholas Stanek : Nicholas Stanek is in his third year in the Electrical Engineering program. He is pursuing signals and communication as a degree specialization. He is a very reliable person and very ambitious to achieve new goals.. Khalid Salah: Khalid is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Information Technology and Management. He is goaloriented with a desire to learn and contribute towards a possible working solution. Dorothy Lim is a fourth year Civil Engineering undergraduate. She hopes to be a licensed structural engineer and works hard towards that goal. She is independent, has good follow through and is stubborn and determined to achieve her plans.
