CLASIFICACION DE LOS EQUIPOS

De conformidad con las regulaciones sobre la materia emitido por la NORCECA, se detalla el sistema de clasificación en su versión en inglés: Round Robin Ranking To establish the ranking of teams after Preliminary Round, the ranking of the teams will be determined as follows: 1. By the results of matches won and lost. 2. In case of equality in the number of matches won and lost, among two or more teams of the same group, the final ranking of the teams will be determined by the number of points gained among teams of the same group during the Preliminary Round. 3. The following points will be awarded to each team per match, according to the number of sets won/lost: Match won 3‐0 = 5 points Match lost 0‐3 = 0 point Match won 3‐1 = 4 points Match lost 1‐3 = 1 points Match won 3‐2 = 3 points Match lost 2‐3 = 2 points Match forfeited = 0 points (0‐25, 0‐25, 0‐25) Tie Breaking Procedure In case of equality in the number of points gained by two or more teams, the tie will be broken by the points ratio with the following criteria, in order of importance: A) Point Quotient: In case of equality in the number of points gained by two or several teams they will be classified in descending order by the quotient resulting from the division of all points scored by the total of points lost. B) Set Quotient: If the tie persists as per the points quotient the teams will be classified in descending order by the quotient resulting from the division of the number of all sets won by the number of all sets lost. C) If the tie continues as per the set quotient between two teams, the priority will be given to the team which won the last match between them. D) When the tie is between three or more teams a new classification of these teams will be made taking into consideration only the matches in which they were opposed to each other.

Awards: The first three (3) ranked teams will be awarded as follows: 1st Place: Gold Medals 2nd Place: Silver Medals 3rd Place: Bronze Medals

1.1 Individual Awards The Control Committee will present individual awards to the following players based solely on the final results of the Volleyball Information System (VIS). The awards to be presented are:

Two Best Spiker Two Best Blocker Best Receiver Best Server Most Valuable Player (MVP)

Best Digger Best Setter Best Libero Best Scorer Best Opposite

18.2 Best Spikers (OH); The best two spikers must be awarded from among the Position 4 (P4) players, previously declared as spikers.

18.3 Best Blockers (MB) The best two blockers must be awarded from among the previously declared middle blocker players.

18.4 Best Defense, Service, Reception and Scorer The best defense, best service, best reception and best scorer(the player who registers more points in attack, serve and block during the competition) must be selected the best in each individual performance no matter the position the players occupy in the court or the position at which the player was previously declared during her Team Preliminary Inquiry.

18.5 Libero Player The Libero players will compete among each other for the best Libero award of the event. Additionally the Libero players will be eligible for the Best Digger and Best Receiver awards of the event. If a Libero player obtains two of the three above indicated awards according to the final results of the Volleyball Information System (VIS) and her team is the Champion Medal Gold Team of the event, she is eligible for the Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) of the event.

18.6 Opposite Player (OP) The best opposite player will be selected from among the previously declared opposite players. If the best opposite player results to be the Most Valuable Player (MVP), resulting her team as Gold Medal Champion of the event, the next best opposite player will receive the Best Opposite Award no matter the

team she belongs to.

18.7 Setter Players The Setter players will compete among each other for the Best Setter Award of the event. Additionally, the Setter players will be eligible for Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) of the event, if she obtains the Best Setter Award of the event, her team is the Champion Gold Medal Team of the event and registers a minimum average of 5.0 per set, according to the final results of the Volleyball Information System (VIS).

18.8 Most Valuable Player (MVP) The Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) will be awarded to the player that from among the Champion Gold Medal Team of the event registers the highest amount of points scored and accumulated in Attack, Block and Serve during the competition, according to the final results of the Volleyball Information System (VIS). In addition, the Setter players will be eligible for Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) of the event as outlined in Article 18.7 above.

Elite AFECAVOL Men’s Cup to get underway TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, December 4, 2014. ‐ The Elite AFECAVOL XVIII Men’s Central American Cup is ready to get underway this Friday December 5 at Jorge A. Galeano Gymnasium in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The round‐robin competition clashes the seven national teams representing the AFECAVOL zone, with Guatemala as defending champions. On Thursday, teams took part of the preliminary inquiry and the general technical meeting where each team’s coach gave a brief view on the tournament. Albert Humes, Belize: “I think we have a great chance just like anyone here to win the tournament. Our Association worked hard to bring a good team here; we have been practicing since August.” Cesar Salas, Costa Rica: “This will be a very competitive tournament; teams here are well prepared, as it’s the Elite competition of the region. We’ve had months of preparation and we’re here to battle for the title, it won’t be easy and it’ll be a good competition”. Ricardo Rivera, El Salvador: “It will be tough, Honduras is the team to beat, without underestimating the rest, we are all well prepared and we won’t put our arms down, results will speak for themselves”. Reider Lucas, Guatemala: “The team has prepared as much as possible; I believe the competition’s going to be close because several teams have the same game level, which finishes first, will be the one with the best results. We have to think in one opponent at a time and hope to battle for the title”. Manuel Mancia, assistant coach Honduras: “We are very happy to be hosting a Cup of this magnitude. Everyone has prepared well, technically teams have improved a lot, we have prepared not only technically but physically and mentally too, and we’ll prove we have much to give”. Osman Hernandez, Nicaragua: “The team is renovated, it’s young and we want to battle hard against every team. We’ve practiced for the past three months and hope to do well”. Horacio Angulo, Panama: “Our team is totally renovated with U‐23 players because we’re in a changing process. It will be a hard competition and we hope to be medalists, much better if it’s the Gold”.

Copa Elite Masculina de AFECAVOL lista para iniciar TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, 4 de diciembre de 2014. – La Copa Elite Masculina de AFECAVOL, en su edición XVIII, está lista para iniciar este viernes 5 de diciembre en el Gimnasio Jorge A. Galeano de Tegucigalpa, Honduras. El torneo reúne a las siete selecciones nacionales representativas de la zona de AFECAVOL, siendo Guatemala el campeón defensor, enfrentándose todos contra todos. Este jueves, los equipos tomaron parte de la entrevista preliminar y la reunión técnica general, en donde los entrenadores hablaron brevemente de lo que esperan del torneo. Albert Humes, Belize: al igual que el resto de equipos acá, Belize quiere quedarse con la corona; nos hemos preparado desde agosto y los esfuerzos de la nuestra Asociación han sido grandes para traer un buen equipo”. Osman Hernández, Nicaragua: “El equipo está prácticamente renovado, bastante joven y queremos darle la batalla a todos los equipos. Hemos trabajado los últimos tres meses con el grupo y esperamos hacer un buen papel”. Horacio Angulo, Panamá: “El equipo viene totalmente renovado, con jugadores nuevos Sub 23, porque estamos haciendo cambios. Sabemos que el torneo es bastante difícil y de meternos al medallero, mejor si fuera la de Oro”.
