Luego de haber perdido el primer set, Brasil se recuperó con Puerto Rico dando lucha en cada punto. Un dramático cuarto set forzó al quinto y la victoria de Brasil en dos horas y 29 minutos. Brasil lideró en ataques por 63-50 y Puerto Rico fue más efectivo en puntos por bloqueo con 17-15. Drussyla Costa con 20 puntos, junto a Gabriel Candido y Lana Conceicao que aportaron 18 cada una, fueron las mejores anotadoras de Brasil. Por Puerto Rico, Génesis Miranda registró 22 puntos.
