TKPOA Mission and Vision Statements

At the January 19th, 2022 Board of Directors meeting, the TKPOA Vision Ad Hoc Subcommittee presented the Board with a draft revised Mission Statement and Vision Statement for the Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association.
Why is a Vision and Mission Statement Important?
It is easy to think that a Vision and Mission Statement are interchangeable, however, they are not. An organization’s Vision Statement looks forward and creates the image of the ideal state and objectives that the organization wants to achieve in the future whereas a Mission Statement, summarizes the goals and values of the organization.
Having these two important business statements assists an organization, such as the TKPOA, in decision-making, setting goals, and attracting future job candidates and homeowners.

The Tahoe Keys Property Owners Association is a well maintained and operated recreational-oriented residential association of 1,528 homeowners on the shores of Lake Tahoe.

What is the Vision Ad Hoc Committee?
In late 2020, the Board of Directors established the Vision Ad Hoc Committee to assist the Board with TKPOA’s re-boot and charting of a new course in a post-pandemic world. The Committee was tasked with creating TKPOA’s new vision through an updated Mission Statement, Vision, and Values and with determining methods of communication to provide this new Vision to the TKPOA Property Owners and the greater community.
Committee members have included Peter Grant (2020-current), Joy Curry Norem (2020-current), Connie Haverty (2020-current), Sean Ward (2020), Arlene Olson (2020), Nate Summer (2020), Keiron McCammon (2020-current), and Steve Shepherd (2020-current).
The Committee’s January 19th, 2022 presentation was a culmination of the Committee’s hard work with support from Staff in the last year to create and new vision for the Tahoe Keys. After the Committee’s presentation, the Board voted to unanimously approve TKPOA’s new Vision and Mission Statements 1. A safe and welcoming community boasting a wide range of exceptional amenities, services, activities and facilities for homeowners and their guests to enjoy.
2. A community and association committed to protecting and enhancing the outstanding natural beauty and resources that surround it.
3. A unique setting for lake, boat, and outdoor lovers alike to relish, enjoy and appreciate all that Lake Tahoe has to offer.
With the approval of the new Vision and Mission Statements, the Vision Ad Hoc Committee has begun working on next steps for communication and implementation, including continuing work on a draft Values Statement for future Board review and approval with support from Staff in the last year to create a new vision for the Tahoe Keys.
