YEARS IN TRUCKEE 28 years

ORIGINALLY FROM Norway. My family immigrated to the U.S. when I was a small child. I grew up and attended college in the Bay Area.

WHY TRUCKEE Technically, I moved to Truckee to work for Achieve Tahoe (called the Tahoe Adaptive Ski School and Disabled Sports USA Far West at the time). However, I am a lifelong Nordic and Alpine skier, making many trips to North Lake Tahoe while growing up in the Bay Area. I have always loved the area and all the outdoor opportunities available here. The job opportunity at Achieve Tahoe, where I had volunteered for three years, gave me the motivation to make the move I had long contemplated. It took over a year to realize that I was not on vacation.

BIG LIFE I arrived in Truckee young and single. Over time I got married and raised two daughters here. The appeal of our region has remained the same all these years. I love that living in a small town can lead to a Big Life. Our beautiful environment makes a perfect backdrop to a community where caring people from all walks of life connect and value a healthy and inclusive lifestyle. I hope to stay here for many years to come.
