Project 3A
Juveriyah Salat Arch 101 – Jerry Lum Lake Elizabeth, Fremont
Mysterious While I was standing at this edge, I noticed that the grass and plants created this sort of mystery. The shadows frame one side, leading a darker edge to it as well.
Sadness/Despair This plant just oozed sadness. The dark, yet sepia tones added to that overall tone of despair, as it is all brown. I took this because it was in contrast to other multiple pictures that were shown about. The river that runs next to the lake is brown and disgusting, showing a contrast between beauty and ugly.
Adventure The sense of adventure was felt as I was walking down the path that led to the end of the walk-around. There is also a person standing at the end to show the human scale of the entire picture.
Curious I took this picture because it was a very curious part of the park. The tree was cut in half, and there were multiple holes in the trunk, and was very washed out. There were multiple spider webs as well, leading me to feel a little creeped out, but very curious.
Awe-inspiring When I got to the park, I noticed there were a lot of ducks. As I ventured further and further, I noticed there was a singular heron right near the edge of the lake. I immediately took a picture because I noticed that it was following the direct path of light on the water, and (not shown in the picture) was joining it’s flock further down the lake.
Eye-catching The intriguing shape of the rocks was one of the first things to catch my eye. The contrast between the light rocks, as well as those soaked in the lake add another depth and layer to the surrounding scene.
Chained yet unrestrained I had noticed these Golden Poppies t were not connected to a lot of soil, but were still thriving in the lack of water and soil. This, which I noticed and reflected on later, shows a similar scene to my sign, in which a flower is coming out from somewhere no one expects it to.
Jaw dropping The vibrant colors of the grass, along with the surrounding patch of grass that I was standing on made me pause through my walk. The grass I was standing on reached up to my knees, approximately 2-2.5 feet, and was soft and lush green. In contrast, the other side of the river was very dry, but had random bursts of color spread out.
Curiosity The branches obscure anything from being seen, but the hint of green leaves more to be desired, adding an invoking sense of curiosity as well as intrigue. The sticks frame the opening, giving more of a focus to the picture.
Mysterious The shrouding of the leaves as well as the knee-high plants leaves an air of mystery, just waiting to be seen. The shadows cast a sort-of “barrier which prevents the idea of going through, but also reveals enough to see through the other side. Through all of this, the idea of mystery comes shining through.
