OF ARCHITECTURE, BENGALURU. I FIND IT FASCINATING HOW SPACES HAVE A BIG IMPACT ON MANY ASPECTS OF HUMAN LIFE AND EVEN MORE INTERESTING HOW ARCHITECTS DESIGN SUCH SPACES WITH EFFICIENCY, GIVING IMPORTANCE TO FUNCTION AND AESTHETICS. I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO INTERN UNDER AN ARCHITECT TO LEARN MANY MORE THINGS AND EXPERIENCE THE PROFESSION THROUGH AN IN-

VISMAYA PLACE MAKING PROJECT VISMAYA IS A PROJECT REVOLVING AROUND THE CONCEPT OF PLACE MAKING. WITH THE SITE BEING LOCATED WITHIN THE CAMPUS OF BMS COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE, THE DESIGN FOCUSES ON CREATING VARIOUS SPACES FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. THE DESIGN INCLUDES VARIOUS ACTIVITIES SUCH AS STATIONARY SHOP, CAFE, OPEN SEATING, EXHIBITION AREA, DISCUSSION AREA OR JURY SPACE, WORKSHOP AREA AND BICYCLE PARKING.

LOCATION

EXISTING SITE

EXISTING SITE PLAN

THE SITE IS LOCATED IN THE PASSAGE BEHIND THE A AND B BLOCKS IN BMS COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE, BASAVANAGUDI, BENGALURU. THIS NARROW PASAGEWAY CAN BE ACESSED MAINLY FROM THE QUADRANGLE. OTHER MEANS OF ACCESS ARE FROM C BLOCK ANDA BLOCK.

CONCEPT LANCET ARCHES HAVE BEEN USED REPETITIVELY, UNITING THE DESIGN THROUGHOUT THE SITE, WHILE ALSO

INSPIRED BY MEDIEVAL ARCHITECTURE, ELEMENTS OF THIS TYPE OF ARCHITECTURE HAVE BEEN INCORPORATED IN THE DESIGN.

CREATING A GOOD CONTRAST TO THE SURROUNDING BUILDINGS.

STONE HAS BEEN USED AS THE MATERIAL FOR WALLS, ARCHES AND SEATINGS. THIS CREATES AN ANCIENT APPEARANCE AND ALSO HELPS IN KEEPING THE AREA COOL

THE ARCHWAYS CREATE AN AESTHETIC APPEARANCE MATCHING WELL WITH THE STONE WALLS. VARIOUS TYPES OF STONE PAVERS HAVE BEEN USED TO DESIGN THE FLOORING.
